Can you tell me how you feel now compare to who you were as an Atheist?

Is there any other non-believers that took on a religion?

Thank you!

My Dad was an atheist. I was at the least a doubter. I would say I was an atheist. I thought people that believed in the Bible were silly and weak. Kind of like believing in cartoons. I got this one boyfriend who was into some occult stuff and saw some strange supernatural things. I was faced with having to believe that there were supernatural things going on so I figured I'd better look into the God aspect of life. I began to read the Bible. All different versions. I came under conviction of The Holy Spirit, Asked forgiveness and accepted Christ. As far as how do I feel compared to then... Great! There's no sadder existence than feeling that there's no purpose in your life than whatever feels good at the time. I was very empty. I didn't know what was missing or why I felt dead inside. It's like being a child in the arms of a big loving father you know will take care of you and protect you. Not that there aren't struggles and heartache. There's just someone always with you walking you through. I was able to help lead my dad to accepting Christ before he died last month, and if nothing else that makes it all worth while.God bless you!!

I have talked to parents of atheists, they regret how they have raised their children later on years in life. I was raised going to Sunday School and went to two churches regularly along with aboriginal cultural beliefs with all the same in life. There is good in every religion and I am glad my parents never taught me to be biast with people's beliefs.

Maybe I rebelled when I was teenager, partied and did everything under the moon but that is not what you call living right. I got nightmares to follow my Mom's ways because she was the rock in the house. I am not ashamed to admit that I use to be a party girl but I have come a long way to running for a Chief position in my reservation. Yeah I use to be the life of the party but now am more family orientated. More like live for partying.

I attend still attend religious/cultural events imagine if people were not comfortable in their own skin or could not identify with their own cultural beliefs.

I was never an atheist, but I was a strict Christian. I went to several bible seminars, only the largest in St. Louis and prayed alot because I questioned alot. Then it came to me, not all at once, but I knew after asking the top biblical scholars, that man did not have the answers.

I questioned because I knew that Jesus didn't do things that church goers of any religion do today. He was offered chariots to drive and turned them down. Do you know of any religious leader that doesn't drive a modern day chariot? He wasn't hauled around in a caravan either. He didn't perform not one miracle in a church, think about this!

I choose not to be affiliated with religion, I do what Jesus did, he was not affiliated with "a" religion either!

I chose to "get out from among them."

I chose the beliefs that he believed in, to be in touch with the nature of nature, the mountains, the seas, the wilderness, and all those questions you have, which we all do are answered only in nature, not a man-made temple.

The bible is chosen diaries of different individuals and what they observed. Matthew saw it differently than Luke, and Peter. This is why there are so many different religions as well.

Did you know that Native Americans saw Jesus as well? They have further stories beyond the bible diaries of past Hebrews. They each say Jesus spoke of four sets of human creations, each their own race, his Father believed in variety, that is why we have more than one fruit tree, more than one flower, more than one hardwood tree...

Where did Jesus go when he left the "Holy Lands?"

There is a large lapse of time that the bible does not depict in which Jesus was not around, and I became aware of that.

Now I know how Cane found a wife after he killed his brother and left the region. And there's more, much more, but just think about this tiny bit, and realize religion has its many faults, it is man-made, man inspired, just follow the path of Jesus, and do what he did, pray in the mountains, by the sea, out of the churches, and you'll hear those answers- finally.

Whose the teacher? Jesus is!

I was an atheist once during my times as a rebell teenager, i was an active comunist and atheist.
during my time as a biology student in university i started wondering about God and ended up admiting to myself that there had to be some sort of transcendent being based on the beauty of life and all its processes (evolution and celuar biology mostly, this stuff is just magnificent).
Later, during a hard time in my life i began to attend a catholic church, i started thinking, a lot of things happened (a lot), but mostly when i broke up with a grilfriend i had i realised my life had turned empty. Nothing had changed, still the stuff i used to do, all of it, just did'nt do the trick anymore.
After a troublesome spiritual search, full of scepticism and doubt (i'm a biologyst and therefore very sceptical), i became an non catholic christian (i still like catholics in certain aspects) and attend a Baptist church. I am very happy and striving always to be a better man. I got rid of aspects of my life i used to hate and am very happy with my choice

thats it

I was Catholic, turned Atheist, turned born again Christian.
No religion. Personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. This was accomplished by His death and resurrection.

Romans 10:9
that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:10
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Ephesians 2:8
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
Ephesians 2:9
not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Pray this.

God,
I am a sinner unable to save myself. I believe Jesus died for me and was raised from the dead. Please save me. In Jesus Name, Amen.

I now believe in God. But my beliefs of God are my own. MY beliefs are my understanding of the Bible and my understanding of the world. To put it simply, I believe in God but I don't belong to any religious orders.

I used to be an atheist, but I'm now a Pastapharian. I feel that my life is much more meaningful now that I've accepted the Flying Spaghetti Monster as my personal savior.

I would think the trend is away from religion in the west. So I doubt you will get any responses here.

The above idea, (Mine) is not a bad thing.
