Yes... It is perfectly normal. I had a friend that had about 20 something cats. Whenever I went to their house I would scratch their backs and they would lick their paw (like you said). I asked the owner why. And they all say, "because when you scratch their back they relax so they lick their paw as satisfaction."
I hope that answered your question!!!

LOL! You don't know much about "pure-bread" cats first it is spelled breed or bred. Long furred monster?? normal egyptian cat? There are several breeds that are a natural breed and have long, medium and short fur. I haven't met a long furred monster cat coming from any breeder. Unless it is a bad breeder. The Maine Coon is a natural breed from the United States. Originated the state of Maine. Read up on the breed. And with a "Pure-Bread" cat you do know what to expect in health and temperament and of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder. With a "normal cat" you don't know its background what is in the family lines, what genetic defaults, health issues are. Now stating that kittens from the same litter can grow up differently just as any brother and sister they will not all be the same. Genetics plays a big part in that. I can't understand why people call others names just because they have different opinions. No two people think, look or act alike and all should be respected for their likes and opinions even if they are not what you believe in. R P Cat Maine Coons YEP One of those "Pure-Breads" LOL

Newsflash: cats are not normal!
My cats do similar things to that, they really love it when I scratch them there, when your cat licks his paws it probably means he's happy.

Oh my Gosh-we have 6 cats. Jack, our part Siamese cat, does that and it's sooo funny! Nothing's wrong with that. It just feels good to them in that area. If any other cat is close or if I put my hand near him while I'm doing that, he'll lick me or the other cat!!

All is the cat is doing is washing it self from the sctch. Cat's are pretty vain animals so they like to keep themselves in good condition. Even though thier vain I still love them every little bit.

this doesn't happen with my cat, but it doesn't mean your cat is not normal. I don't think there's anything wrong with your cat, really - (cud be just a ticklish reaction?)
