the bible is NOT proof. if you can't unequivocally proove the truth of the bible, then you can't proove the truth of anything within the bible either.

They don't KNOW it's a choice. They've heard from the Christian propaganda organizations that it's a choice and buy into it because it validates their Biblically influenced perspective.

This matter knows no end here, and I'm thinking the guys who drape themselves in "God says it's a sin" are perhaps, er, protesting too much...which is not to say every one of them is worried sick that way down deep he really can't forget that dude he knew in the 11th grade. No, I'm not saying that at all. But, as a straight man with a late wife and three grown children and five grandchildren, and who, like most males, once had a 'gay' experience, way back in high school, I say to you with all respect for your god that you consider that this is not the Bronze Age...the time of much of the OT...but the 21st century. Think of it--we have put men on the moon, we have guys up in near-space right now, my 10-year-old grandson knows more about the universe than ten million clergymen knew in the 14th century. It's a new day, fundies et al.: join it! It's not all dark and wallowing in fear of hellfire and demons and ghosts and black magic.

Even if it were true that homosexuals were "born" that way, doesn't make a difference! We were ALL BORN IN SIN! Jesus said "No one can enter the kingdom of heaven, unless you are BORN AGAIN!!!!"
Born again means REPENTING of the sin that you're in.(repenting means to TURN AWAY FROM THE SIN) HOMOSEXUALITY IS A SIN just like any other sin! If you repent of the sin, confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, and accept Him into your heart as your Lord and Savior, then live your life in obedience to His Word, then you will be BORN AGAIN. He will give you a NEW HEART. One that does not DESIRE SINFUL WAYS OF THE FLESH. YOU WOULD NO LONGER BE A HOMOSEXUAL!!!

I don't know how any clearer this can be, yet some still find a lie in it. Are you still suggesting that homosexuality is not a sin, even if you were born into it? The Bible clearly states that it is. It has nothing to do with our opinion of it. It's God's Word.
Don't tell me the Bible is not proof. It is God's Holy Word. Just because you say it isn't so, doesn't make it so. I choose to believe God, and not you. The Bible IS The Truth. Some people wouldn't know the truth if they saw it because they don't seek the truth. They just want things to be what they want them to be, so they believe they are. Where is YOUR proof that the Bible is NOT The living Word of God? I want to see your proof.
Ask any homosexual that was saved, and see what they say it is. Many have been saved by the grace of God, and have admitted that they were in sin. Do some checking!!!

First, let me say that I have nothing against homosexuals...

This question has been asked several times in this forum, and it has been my experience that those who post them are not truly looking for substantive debate; they are looking for conflict.

I could give lengthy discourses about the how choices in lifestyles are connected to the animal drives of procreation; the instinctive response to 'preserve the species', etc...

...but, as I feel they will be ignored, I will forgo submitting them again...

I leave you with this one thought, - though I know you will probably dismiss it outright:

Given that identical twins are, for the practical intent and purpose of debate, - genetic replicants of one another,...
...and if homosexuality is an inherent human trait, as you claim it is, - and not at all rooted in a conscious or sub-conscious choice...

...then, by your argument, - all identical twins are either gay or straight; no gay person could have a straight identical twin, and vice versa...

Once you find a set of identical twins who do not share the same sexual orientation, then the "by birth or by choice" argument becomes moot.

..and, I think it goes without saying, that they do exist...

Does that seem logical enough?...

Christianity and Homosexuality
Homosexual adj. “of our relating to sexual attraction
toward others of the same sex.”

There is no question about rather or not God has spoken and warned us against homosexuality. There is no question that when participating in homosexual behavior we increase our chances in various diseases including those that will take our lives in the end.

The bible, God’s word, says it is a choice: I know there are some Christians that believe this and some that do not. The reason that I know it is a choice is because God gave us free will. In that awesome responsibility we have the right to choose how we will live. If one of us were to become a nun, such as the late Mother Theresa, it is our choice to give up the lust of the flesh and live a life of sexual purity by remaining a virgin until death. This is the same choice that is given to us in homosexuality. You have a choice to bear your cross or to lay it down and fall into the wickedness of lust with the same sex.

This can be taken into any sexual act of impurity; something that I do not know anyone who has not fallen short of. Let us remember what 1Corinthians 6:9 – 10 says “Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes or practice homosexuality – will NOT inherit the Kingdom of God.”

Reading further down we hit my conviction with God giving us free will. 1 Corinthians 6:12-13 says, “You say, “I am allowed to do anything “, - but not everything is good for you. And even though “I am allowed to do anything, I must not become a slave to anything…But you can’t say that our bodies were made for sexual immorality. They were made for the Lord, and the Lord cares about our bodies.”

We are an actual part of Christ’s body. 1 Corinthians 6:15, “Do you know that your bodies are members of Christ?”

In being a part of Christ’s body we are ordered by God to love as Christ would love; which is where the WWJD bracelets, rings, banners, stickers etc…have come from but how many of us really follow the meaning behind the bracelet? John 13:34, “So now I am giving you a new commandment: love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.

No we shouldn’t accept the behavior of sexual immorality rather it is being a homosexual, sex addict, porn addict, adulteress etc….But we are responsible still for ministering and showing God’s grace to all of us that behave in these manners. Let me repeat we are responsible for embracing homosexuals not the behavior but the person as Christ has embraced us so they may make the choice and know Christ. You can read Romans 1:26, 27, Romans 1: 18-32, Leviticus 18:22 and see that the Lord instructs us on these very things.

Very good questions. I am heterosexual and it is not a choice. To be blunt, I just love breasts too much :0. I could no more suddenly decide I was a homosexual than I could suddenly decide I was a bird, flap my arms, and fly away.

The interesting implication here is that for the strict interpreters of the Bible who believe it is a choice, they must see themselves as ticking time bombs who could go one way or another at any moment. Say it ain't so? Ah, so it's not choice then...

I'm probably going to make some people mad....
This is what I beleive.
There are those who are born totally straight to whom the idea of doing anything sexual with the same sex is un thinkable.

There are those who are born with a desire for only thier same sex, who have an equal aversion to doing anything sexual with the oposite sex.

Then there are a large number of people along a line between the two who may live straight or be bi or gay.

These are people who may or may not act on thoughts or feelings they have.

Case in point a person I know who is Bi but lives a mainly heterosexual life. This person is not denying who they are they just don't happen to have those relationships all the time.

I actually remember trying to fight with my subconscious to NOT like girls (as well as boys) Didn't work. I wanted so bad to be straight. I used to try to think of a boy at my school I thought was kind of cute before I fell asleep so that I wouldn't have another lesbian experience dream. Yeah, it was bad.

I can't really prove it, but think some people are just born that way, with those tendencies, in their hormones and then others do choose it. It depends. But whatever it is, its really not my business, so it doesn't worry me. And just for the record, I do remember reading about how some animals do participate in homosexual acts . Ducks for one. Weird, huh?

You are confusing sexual orientation with sexuality. Homosexuality is about sexual acts, not an orientation, ergo, it's a choice. The same is true for the heterosexual who is also promiscuous. The actions are a choice.
