I was scared to death , it does not hurt .... stings a little and actually you don't feel anything at all at first but wait about 5 min and you will start feeling it. The bad part does not last long and is well worth the moment of pain if you can wear the earrings. I found out that I was allergic and my whole body broke out I wound up on antibiotics for a yr to get rid of the "bumps" that i had all over me. Please be sure to wear the hypo allergenic or 14 k gold. some ppl are not allergic but it is not worth the chance. Good luck

If you place cotton balls into your ears before the procedure, whether you have it done by an experienced professional or friend, you don't hear the needle going through the cartilage. When I had mine pierced, the first one I didn't use the cotton ball and it hurt, but it was sound more than the pain itself that hurt. I used a cotton ball in the second one, and I didn't hear or feel anything.
I have pierced many ears. I had set of very young twin girls whom the mother had taken to several places and really botched up the job. The girls were terrified because they could hear the cartilage and grissel. I put cotton balls in their ears when I did it, and they didn't even wimper or let out a sound, which I found amazing expecially after what they had already gone through with previous attempts.
Using a ball point pen place a dot where you want the earring. Use an ice cube on both sides of the lobe to numb it. Use T pin to make the hole, and place a sterilized potato or something else hard but yet let the pen pierce . Using a squirt type bottle squirt Isoprophal alcohol on both sides for the earring several times each day and more if you can remember and twist the post type earring each time to prevent the tissue from adhering and healing to the post. Do not remove the earrings for 6 weeks. It could take that long for the wound to heal and build the scar.
The important thing is to keep squirting the alcohol and twisting the earring, to prevent infection. Be sure to wash your hands well with soap and water before each application to prevent transferring any bacteria to the ear lobes.

I have had mine for 8 years now and i cant even feel it hurt or anything when i put earrings in or take them out, i dont even realise there there half of the time. Dont worry it will be ok, by the way i was 8 when i had mine done, so that proberly would hurt an 8 year old.

At first it starts to feel hot then turns into a throbbing pain, I think it depends on the individual as to how much it hurts.
You won't be able to sleep on your side for the first night or so as it can be a little sore. Ear lobes are less painful than the top of the ear where its cartilage.
Just remember to keep the area clean, cleanse it twice a day with a solution of hot water and salt. You can ask for advice about that from the place doing the piercing.
After a day or two max you'll be fine, and you'll be able to wear fab earrings.
Good luck

I had mine done with the piercing gun and it was over in seconds! All I felt was a little sting or burning sensation for about a minute afterwards. You'll be fine. It's not a big deal at all so don't be scared. Just think of all the little kids that have theirs pierced.

Have you ever accidentally gone to stand on a tack or an earring or accidentally poked yourself with a pin. It's exactly like that more shock than pain really. Once second and boom you're done.
Don't go into extreme weather conditions as this antagonaises them ie really cold keep them slightly covered.
Make sure you clean them regularly with saline and cotton buds and gently turn the studs to remove excess gunk.
Good luck!

It kinda hurts like getting a splinter. The pain passes quickly. And you'll like having pierced ears. They're fun.

It hurts right when it happens but then it subsides. The holes will feel tender for a day or so. Remember to follow the instructions and apply the ointment and keep them clean. Don't forget to twist the posts every few days so the skin doesn't form scar tissue to the post.

YES,YES,YES!!! it does hurt. But it is well worth the pain for a few seconds. Be sure to clean everyday with the solution they give you. wash your hands before touching your ears after, apply neosporin/with pain relief every night before bed.
follow the directions that they give you, keep those starter earrings in as long as they say.
Happy Healing

EXACTLY? It stings. It hurts for a while and you can't sleep on the side because the pillow pushes your earring in your neck and makes your earlobes red and sore.
