I think that if you were to post all of my stuff publicly and show it to my family and friends, they would be like ,"Geesh... that sure does sound familiar. Sounds kinda like Scott."
here's a the real question: Do you think anyone will respond with "yeah... I'm pretty much fake. I like to hide behind the screen here on YA."

My family knows what I write here. I'm pretty much the same in real life.
Actually, I think I write much better than I speak, although I'm getting better. I tend to explain myself better in words. I am a very expressive person when I talk though, and can get very passionate about a topic. This sometimes gives the wrong impression about me. I don't think I hide behind this screen.
I've become acquainted with several people on here and I'm sure it would be a blast to get together and REALLY talk sometime! LOL
blessings :)

I am like this all the time!! As a matter of fact because of online ettiquete I am more 'courteous' I guess for a lack of a better word. I make my beliefs and opinions known at home and at work if approrppriate of course~ I practice to know, to will, to dare and to keep silent~ I do not push my thoughts or beliefs~ but yes I am me all the time, I walk my talk. I am fortunate that I really have had no flack, but if I did I would defend myself and my beliefs. I would not hide any content of any statement from my parents, children, friends, or co -workers. I use discretion so as not to offend others yet I will not hide.

I invite my family and friends on here! They know me, they know I'm willing to argue and equally willing to listen. I don't hide behind anyone or anything. I stand up for what I believe in. Yahoo Answers is just a small part of my life, an interesting part I may add.

I am like this in real life. I don't hide behind my computer. I am a nice person, mostly. No answer I have given would embarrass or shock anyone who knows me.

Nobody who really knows me would be particularly surprised. Maybe some of my co-workers would be surprised by my spending so much time in R&S (I don't speak often of my spirituality ITRW because I'm afraid I'll sound loopy), not so much time in NASCAR and Music (passions I do freely discuss in real life) and the occasional instances where I got really angry and invited people to misuse household appliances.

Nothing would surprise my friends or family. There may be a few individual remarks or situations that would get an "I didn't know you felt so strongly about that" but nothing major. I am pretty much like this in person, though at work I have to behave myself.

Except for a few devout Christians in my family, most of the people I know/ care about, know my beliefs, so I would have a rough time with it but I would be able to come through.

by your avatar, i see you're pagan. i'm pagan too, and have been for 20 yrs. i am still a closet pagan, mostly because i have kids ages 9, 12, 15 who i don't want to experience negative consequences because of our beliefs. so if they saw my answers, i'm sure they would be a little surprised lol.
i would never deny what i post or what i think. if my family had questions, i would answer them. but until then, i will let them think that i am atheist, as they are.

It wouldn't bother me if they saw them, because I really am like this in "the real world."
In fact, I wish they would see what I write here, learn how I think and feel. It would be eye-opening to them, because all they ever want to do is chit chat or complain about their lives. There's so much more to this life than our grumpy bosses, traffic, and the price of gasoline. And there's more to me than what they think.
