my mom is freaking out because over the last week her palms of her hands have become really yellow. she has a history of being really sick, but doctors cant find out why. My aunt and cousin, who are both nurses, suggest that it is a liver problem. Im not sure, and im not really having much luck finding any information online, PLEASE HELP US!! -thank you!!

Well, it sounds like you are on the right track. A malfunctioning liver can lead to a build up of biliubin in the blood which in turn causes jaundice, the yellow coloring of the skin. I would look for other causes of hyperbilirubinemia. That might open some more doors of info for you.

Sometimes yellowness can be a sign of a bad liver . But test would show that .

It sounds like jaundice from liver problems. A blood test could determine if it is or not. She needs to see a doctor right away.

hmmm..Seems like with liver the whites of her eyes would be yellow too? Keep searching the web..or call that cable station that does that tv show mystery dignosis..not sure how you would get hold to them though..keep seaching..good luck.

I agree with your aunt and cousin.. I would have her liver checked. There is blood work they can do to check the liver enzyme levels. You can also do ultrasound to look at it..

Sorry about your mom. Take her to the Dr, SAP for tests then you will know for sure to ease your minds then be there for each other.
