In my , no remember if that could be a collecting at my daughter's, we carry issues for a extensive buffet. My daughter is particularly of a "Martha Stewart" type and could create 2 pastas with a sauce for the vegetarians and yet another with shrimp or meat interior the sauce, baked or bbq salmon or fowl considering that she & her husband do no longer eat pork, some sort of starch(the two mashed potatoes, yams or couscous, and so on.), freshed cooked vegs that are in season. We others complement with Salads (frequently 2 or 3), ethnic takeout (somebody introduced some Cuban baked "tasties"), breads and cakes. We frequently have the generic kinfolk 14 plus whom ever else we attraction to to rejoice. From the time of my toddlers, My mom's section had celebrations month-to-month at my Grandmother's. My Grandmother had 9 toddlers. all of us's Birthdays, wedding ceremony anniversaries and holiday trips have been celebrated at my Grandma's place - it replaced into continually a surprising ingredient alongside with my cousins, aunts, uncles & grandma. I persevered the custom on a smaller scale over the yrs and now my daughter seems to be persevering with it as quickly as back.

Yes! One of my grandmas used to roast a whole duck on Christmas Day! I loved it growing up, and didn't realize how special it was until I was grown and she was gone. I wish that I could tell her now how much I still love duck, thanks to her!
And my mom still makes a killer pot roast...I try to follow what she does, but hers always tastes better, somehow!

My Nana always made the most beautiful roast beef and home made gravy for Christmas. She always overcooked the vegetables and they were caramally and sweet and lovely. Then she'd serve her home-made Christmas Pudding with the most amazing flavor. I miss it very much - no one can make it like she did.
