I'm 5ms pregnant with a little girl and already have 3 boys. My youngest son Connor is 3 and has become a little too attached to the baby. At first, i was glad he was excited about the it and know that he's goint to be a big help. But now we're having some issues.
Connor gets very annoyed and pushes peoples hands away when anyone touches my stomach. I had to find someone to watch him when i took my older two to see an ultrasound. He gets annoyed and screams "youre going to smush my baby" if my other two sons or my husband sit close to me. He refers to her as HIS "LIBIA" (Olivia as shell be named). I've tried explaining things, having him sit in time out for screaming/pushing and reading stories to him about babies but nothing is working. I feel completely clueless b/c I'm usually good at solving problems like this. Anyone have any suggestions?

Have you explained about the water the baby is in, how it's like a big water balloon, protecting the baby from harm?

He sounds like a sweet little boy. Try to continue to be patient with his concerns.

I hope you are taking pictures of all of this, so when he is 16 and she is 13, and she is hanging around him and his girlfriend, and driving both of them nuts, you can whip out those pictures !!!

I think you are doing exactly the right thing by explaining and reading to him. Hang in there, Mom, four more months and Conner will finally have his little Libia!!!!

You've gotten alot of good suggestions. I'd also try telling him the baby needs lots of people to love her like her other siblings and her daddy. Hope thats help.

Wow. You have your hands full. I think you should tell your son that the baby needs lots of love and the more people to love them, the better.

Yes to both the previous answers. If you haven't tried the Sears book, Baby on the Way, i would recommend it. It might be of help.

let him know that he will be a great big brother, but mommy's body is all the protection the baby needs for now. This baby will be everyones sister, not just yours!
