(Mat 28:20 DRB) Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. And behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world.
(Mat 7:24 DRB) Every one therefore that heareth these my words, and doth them, shall be likened to a wise man that built his house upon a rock,
(Mat 7:25 DRB) And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and they beat upon that house, and it fell not, for it was founded on a rock.
(Mat 7:26 DRB) And every one that heareth these my words and doth them not, shall be like a foolish man that built his house upon the sand,
(Mat 7:27 DRB) And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and they beat upon that house, and it fell, and great was the fall thereof.
(Mat 7:28 DRB) And it came to pass when Jesus had fully ended these words, the people were in admiration at his doctrine.
(Mat 7:29 DRB) For he was teaching them as one having power, and not as the scribes and Pharisees.
(Mat 16:18 DRB) And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

It is questioning the veracity of Christ who said that His Church was an enduring Church on a foundation of rock.

Proud to be LDS: fine, just show me where Jesus taught that the Church would fall into apostasy and be in need of restoration. In order to be right you must show where Jesus contradicted His own words in establishing His Church.

Proud to be LDS: fine, where is any evidence of this apostasy. Jesus clearly said that apostasy of the Church is impossible. Therefore if it occurred He is a liar. Right or why not?

Revelation 12 is speaking of the last days and not the beginning of the Church. Try again.

Isolde,
I am an early Church Scholar and professor and I find your speculation to be false. There was no apostasy as you claim in the Church. Emperors and kings never choose leaders in the Church and it was always done as in the first century Church of Acts when Bishops chose disciples to secede them in authority. Never was the use of the Bible discouraged. It is true that some mistranslated the Bible which the Church did not endorse for obvious reasons. As I said, Christ taught that the Church would endure for all times without falling into apostasy and said that it is and will always be the “bulwark and ground of the truth”. If Mormons are correct then Christ is a liar and a fool and is undeserving of our respect much less our worship. Conversely, Joseph Smith is a liar and a false teacher. As a Christian I must believe Christ and not an imposter.
