I remember Primo Beer, I used to drink in in Hawaii as a college student at UH, in 1970-1974. We could take the tour, and then drink "some" samples, or bring the fraternity to the hospitality room for more free beer.
Then about 1977 or so, Joesph Schlitz Bottling Co. bought them out, and were going to brew Schlitz. But many of us thought Schlitz tasted like crap. And they went out of business in Hawaii, too. Unless somebody has a few hidden away as a keepsake, you won't find it anywhere. I too am sorry it is gone, forever.

By the way, it was the choice of many people, until Budweiser brought out so many different bottles, cans, and sizes that the beer coolers squeezed out Primo. All the old timers remember PRIMO!!!!! As AKU used to say "P-R-I---K-L-M-O."

Now Anheiser-Busch (makers of Budweiser products) has a stake in Kona Brewing Company, a Hawaiian craft brewery, and Kona's beers are supposed to be fabulous. Let's hope Kona does not go the way that Primo beer did. Wish I could try Kona beer but unfortunately I live in Pennsylvania where its unavailable.

Didn't Heileman buy it out about 30 years ago? Then Heileman was bought out and many of its brands discontinued.
