Not really sure where we want to go, it is all in my hands, she doesnt mind anything. Warmth, sun and beaches is the route i would like to go but am open to suggestions. If using an agency, any in particular i should check out. (Originating in Northern Ohio)

Search the deals on "expedia.com, travelocity.com,
usairwaysvacations.com, americanairlinesvacations.com".
Check out the Bahamas, Jamaica, Aruba, St Thomas, also...look for all inclusives (this includes all meals, snacks and drinks and most of the resorts have a number of restaurants included to choose from, so you are not eating at the same restaurant everyday).

I used Costco Travel for mine (Maui). I suggest Tahiti, so romantic. You will never go anywhere better - it does sort of ruin you - but it is AMAZING. Your future wife will LOVE it if she likes water and warmth. I wish I would have gone back for my honeymoon. I stayed at Le Meridian in Tahiti but have heard a smaller island (I think Manihi or something like that), is even better. Morea is supposedly the most beautiful beach in the world, it is part of the Tahitian islands. I liked it just as much as the main island of Tahiti, personally.

I had a bad experience with an agency, high prices and bad follow up.

Look on Expedia.com before you book a hotel. The traveler's comments are really helpful.

I would recommend NOT cruising.

I would try a travel agency. They can get better deals sometimes because of all the repeat business they give their places and can gurantee everything. Even something like Travelocity.com would work.

We booked one ourselves and when we got there the clerk had screwed up and we ended up with 7 people having to stay in a two bed room. If we had a travel agent they would have fixed the problem instead of offering a discount on our stay or nothing.

Use a travel agency and be sure to tell them everything you'd love for your "vacation".

I personally haven't had this happen, but I've heard that there's a 'honeymoon tax' that some agencies try to bury into their fee.

Can't confirm if it's true or not true, but better safe than sorry right?

Have a great time!

My husband and I went to a travel agency (Liberty Travel is wonderful) for a trip to Montreal and they booked it for us with no worries...then for our honeymoon we took the tips that our travel agent gave us, and did some independent research and ended up getting everything for much less money. I think it depends on the timing, deals, etc...but I'd definitely talk to an agent first to give you an idea (they have so many fun itineraries!) then go from there.

For me it depended on how complex I wanted the trip to be. For the original plan of island hopping in Hawaii I would definitely have employed a travel agent. But since we decided on sticking exclusively to Kauaii I just used a site like Travelocity and booked the flight, motel, and car all in one.
For simple trips I'd just do it myself. For more complex ones get yourself an agent.

We booked our own travel arrangements. I like doing things myself because then I know it is done correctly.

We went to a Secret's resort in Mexico. Absolutely beautiful!!! Highly recommend it!
