Obviously going to the beach area would answer this question. But, you get your typical single's crowd which is not always a good thing. A new bar in PB called Bar West seems to have normal people, a little snobish, but what can you do. There is a dress code on weekends.
Also, try the Silver Fox. A hole in the wall, but totally casual. Other than that DT is the the same old thing crowded, lines, tourists etc.
Hole in the wall bars are the best nowadays. You know what you are getting. Good luck, I don't think "single bars" truely exist anymore.
