Hmm. Excessive flatulence is usually caused by something in the diet. It could be something that naturally produces a lot of gas (think you after a bowl of chili) or it could be that your dog has a mild allergy to something in his food. If you're feeding a cheaper food made with lots of corn or wheat, try switching to a higher-quality food such as Wellness. You could also try switching to a different protein source, such as lamb instead of chicken.
Generally speaking, carbohydrates cause gas and protein makes it stink. So if you reduce the carbohydrates by picking a higher-quality food, and change the protein by switching meat sources, you may just come up with a combination that you can tolerate. Make sure that you make any diet changes gradually, over the course of a week or so, to prevent any worse digestive upset.
Also, be aware that adult dogs are generally lactose intolerant, and even small treats of cheese or ice cream can make them very gassy.

She cannot cope with the grain in her food. I have learnt by my mistakes. My present dog had dreadful problems because of the food which I gave her, I experimented with dog food, I tried raw diets, cooked diets and over the years I tried various dog foods. She did not like the raw diets and the dog food that I gave her resulted in diarrhoea. As an experienced dog owner I introduced any changes gradually. Nevertheless my dog still had problems. Eventually, because of my researches on the Internet I found that the experts have discovered that GRAIN in our dog’s diet causes many problems. I now know that grain creates acidity in the blood. This causes skin problems, digestive issues, allergies, sickness, constipation, diarrhoea, anal gland problems etc., If your dog has skin problems or any of the above problems PLEASE CHANGE THE DIET. Avoid Grain, rice, beef derivatives and dairy food. Try a diet which is FISH BASED AND GRAIN FREE don’t forget that rice is also classed as grain. A rapid change of diet will upset your dog; any change of diet must be done gradually. Do please change to a grain free diet. I have had sixteen dogs throughout the years and they have had various problems. Perhaps if I had known about the dangers of GRAIN they would have had fewer problems.

Raw or BARF(Bones and Raw Food) diets are supposed to help a lot with dog farts. My dog is on raw, but he never really farted , but I've never had him stink up the place. It's also really good for their teeth and general health. If a raw diet won't work for you, then buy super-premium dog food, and get food with the first ingredient that's meat, not grains.
For raw diet info you can google BARF diet, or go to www.rawdogranch.com

I find our dogs are worse when they have not been exercising much. Then I add a couple Beano tablets in with their dinner and it makes a HUGE difference, and works right away just like for humans. :) You can play around with their food and try different ones as that may also help, but with age I have found it gets worse.

You are going to have to try a different dog food and no table scraps! My big dog has bad gas too, something we have learned to deal with.
I think that is what thier tails are for, to fan the stink away!!!
Good luck!

Add probiotics to his diet. At first, it may seem worse, but this will help him digest his food better. I was just reading that lack of good intestinal bugs may be implicated in bloat.
There are probiotic supplements designed for dogs.

It's as normal for dogs to pass gas as it is us humans. You might try changing his food and see if that helps. Good luck!
