To begin with, you'll have to accept that I, a Roman Catholic, am a Christian--or at least NOT a "non-believer." If you can't, stop reading now. Thank yu!
Secondly, I'm going to accept that you're using "always" in the feminine sense of "more often than I'd like." Compare "You always forget what I tell you," which cannot conceivably be true in any masculine sense, and which many women say to their husbands anyway.
Thirdly, I'm going to assume that by "we Christians" you mean ANY Christians, not just those with whom you're personally associated. (I'm perfectly willing to believe that YOU have never been part of a rabid Christian mob, but that's rather beside your point, isn't it?)
With all those bits out of the way:
The most hateful Christians I know of show up twice a year for the Mormons' General Conference here in Salt Lake City, Utah. They scream, shake Temple garments at believers, wave inflammatory signs, and otherwise make "wild" and "rabid" an understatement. Yes, some of those signs quote the Word.
Although you may not consider Mormons to be Christians, they too can be hateful to others. There was the Mormon teacher who asked a Catholic child wearing a crucifix on a chain why s/he hung a dead man around her neck. (The proper answer is that there's no one more alive than He, but I doubt the child came up with it immediately.) Admittedly, no Word there--except represented on the Cross.
There's Fred Phelps, of Westboro Baptist Church, which runs GodHatesFags.com. (I'm not going to put in the http:// or the www. on that, thank you; it would be too much like enabling.) He and his congregants have shown up at military funerals to explain to the bereaved that God is letting soldiers die as punishment against America for allowing homosexuality (or perhaps homosexuals) to exist. If that's not attacking people with the Word . . . well, it's not, of course, but Phelps and crew THINK it is!
And then there's SOME pro-lifers. I do agree with those whose signs say "Abortion is homicide"--NOT "murder," since murder requires a mental state that I don't suppose exists in as many as one of a thousand abortions. But in the guise of praying for or counseling women going into clinics, some protesters do get awfully wild and hateful.
In ALL these cases, these are people who are sincerely if misguidedly acting as Christians, NOT poseurs determined to make Christians look bad. How can you *possibly* clam that the latter is the only situation that happens? C'mon, man; being Christian does NOT mean always acting as God would want you to!
And you're being given plenty more examples by others, quite enough to show that sightings of rabid Christians--individually and in mobs--are much more common than traces of gentle Bigfoot.
P.S. If the facts are anything at all like she describes, I hope and pray that jujitsu, the ex-gov't-employee who posted on this Question. wins her case.

I agree with you- maybe I am not on here enough to see those rabid Christians. ??? Oh well, I don't know any and I am not a part of the mob and that is why I can't see it and I have a feeling- neither are you. Take heart, I believe you.

Based on experinece as a Christian. The word of God and the name of Jesus is Power and Conviction. I was involuntarily removed from the U.S. Federal Government after 25 years of experince because I quoted a Bible verse inside a closed door office to a 25-year old intern involved in a Federal theft employed by her aunt (nepotism).
The intern approached me for advice which I had always provided if asked. I escorted the individual into a closed door office so I had a resonable expectation of privacy. I quoted the sins of the parents can affect the child (generation curse) in the Bible.
My second line supervisor, in which, it was none of his business, twisted the Bible verse into his own retailation against me. My supervisor asked the intern if she felt threaten when I said the sins of the parents (bible verse) can affect the child. Why feel threaten by a Bible verse. I was later subjected to a bogus illegal interception (tape recording) of my conversation initiated by the lying intern. The intern approached me on April 15, 2004 and stated that she Lied and that she Felt very Threaten when I said if things don't happen to her it would happen to her it would roll over to her daughter.
I was labelled as a threat, involuntarily removed from the Federal Gov't, and suspended from duty for 5-days without pay.
The Federal Gov't has been sued to and including the unlicensed security guard, intern, et.al., in the U.S. District Federal Court, Washington, D.C. See 06-cv-1940 and related claims. Gibson-Michaels vs Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC)

I think they are referring to Jehovah Witnesses who are sometimes over zealous in their pursuit of converts. I had a small group on my doorstep when I had a most important delegation of clients I was addressing, and I ended up trying to pacify both parties. It was at such an inopportune time, it nearly ended up as a disaster!

I once saw a post by a ("R&S Regular") Christian that said, "I'll be eating steak and ice cream in Heaven while you Atheists boil like lobsters in Hell."
Would you consider that even a *little* bit rabid?

Sometimes its us and sometimes its the unbelievers feeling offensive. I do believe everyone that wants to wittiness should be as gentle and loving as Christ was and is. Just because we've been saved by his grace does not mean we should bible thump. We should not compel to the point we turn people off and make them feel like nothing. I've had my share of making that mistake and have also experience those eager to force you to go to church. Well, Christ doesn't force and he demonstrated love to the sinners around him which drew them by multitudes of thousands. I am saying if we could present him and the father in the same way as he did ,we'd be loved by the sinners in our paths.

Because those "mobs" are usually attacking non-Christians; as a Christian yourself, you're generally less likely to be victimized and nitpicked to death by them. Most folks don't like being told they're wrong in everything they do and that they're going to burn it hell because it says it HERE in the Bible or THERE in the Bible... surely there must be a better way of demonstrating your faith then rubbing the ol' fire-and-brimstone approach in people's faces.

I was always taught that they are not being attacked but the spirits that live within them. Demonic spirits hop from person to person,, when that spirit sees the God in you, it becomes fearful and anything that it can possibly do to stop the spirit of God, it will, including claiming an attack. The fight is not us, it has never been.

Real Christians don't have to say a word... We just pray for them.... Hell may be an option for all who twist the word of God. I believe it.
