What do you consider gossip? Assuming you are NOT sworn to secrecy... If someone tells you she is pregnant and you tell someone else, is that gossip? If she tells you the baby isn't her husband's, does THAT make it gossip? If someone has an accident and you discuss that with other people (as in "Isn't it terrible what happened to...?" is that gossiping? Or is it simply being sympathetic and interested in people you know?
Does it have to be UNTRUE to be gossip?

Gossip is telling a bit of information (whether true or untrue) to persons who do not need to know!! No matter how important the information is- if you are being sympathetic, go to that person and be sympathetic, let them tell their own business.
Now, about someone being pregnant and just that simple fact. If she doesn't mind people knowing then- go ahead spread some joy and good news!!!

Gossip is disposible conversation between two or more parties usually centering around a different, non-present party and his/her/their penchant to: get drunk, get pregnant, buy new cars every 6 months, etc.
Gossip can be true, untrue, or a combination of both. Gossip is human nature. It's a way that people show interest in each other, although it's not always the most couth way to show your interest, sympathy, etc.

Gossip is discussing another person's private life. Assuming you think you know what exactly their life entails.

anything where your sticking your nose into someone elses business that you dont know if its a fact or not. you probably spilled the beans about it not being her husbands and feeling guilty. if thats the case, you already know the answer.
