Simple, god has NOTHING to do with it.
Homosexuality is largely driven by genetics, and somewhat by environment.
DNA causes homosexuality, not god.

God made everyone the way he wanted them to be. He created each person's personality, body type, gave them the gifts he wanted them to have, etc. Meaning, they're gay because that's the way God made them to be! God never makes mistakes so the way a person looks, their personality, their body features....all that was created by God long before that person was ever born. What's the purpose of a gay person? Read "Purpose Driven Life" and you'll know. People weren't created for the sole purpose of procreating.

I agree with you in a lot of ways. I do think that statement, "God made me this way." is used entirely too much as a cop out and excuse for the inability to deal with certain behaviors or difficulties we all will in someway face. Indeed we are all born with Passions, be it whatever those may be. Some have the desire for alcohol, or talking a lot, or any number of inborn traits, desires, passions. It is important for all of us as members of the HUman Family, to remember that those appetites and desires and passions are to be controlled and used within the bounds God has set. Any deviation from that course is in no way, what God created, but what we choose.
I do believe and know that we are all capable of overcoming those things that do seem insurmountable. Giving into those passions and desires, be it homosexual, be it violence, be it extramarital affairs, be it pornography, be it any number of the innumerable things, may seem to be okay because it's the easy course. I would say take the road less taken. Be courageous enough to find the course God has for you. Don't superimpose your voice for his as he speaks to you either. I have done that time and time again, and it's just not worth it. As the author said, in taking that road less travelled, It makes all the difference

I do not follow your God, but I use to a long time ago, or at least I studied the Bible intently for several years hoping to find the answers to my questions and a feeling of belonging. I found neither within Christianity, however I know that many do find the answers they are looking for and do feel they belong within the Christian community and I am happy for them. I just wish that they would accept my path as well.
As to your question, I cannot tell you why, but in the Bible it does say that God created everything including evil .... If He created everything then he had to have created Gays. Even though he condemns the activity of homosexuality, at least in the old testament he does.

Why did God make cancer? Why did God make people with Down's Syndrome?
Why did God make people with Multiple Sclerosis? Why did God create depression or anxiety?
Nobody has an answer for any of those things, but God obviously created all of these people with all of these condtions or bodily states, so he must have intended for us to learn from them, to grow from them, to learn to love people with conditions other than our own....
I think the answer is that nobody will ever know, and that we should really just focus on being the best person we can be instead of worrying about other people.

You jumped from saying that gay people feel God made them that way to saying God made them that way. So, the question would logically follow why did he? Logic and truth don't always correspond. Go back and start over and examine all of your premises.

i've also wondered that about blind, deaf, mentally challenged people, etc, and it makes me think of "the meek shall inherit the earth". maybe in some strange way, those who suffer are the chosen ones because they're the ones who most understand the suffering of Christ. Afterall, in a way, the crucifixion was kind of a hate crime and no one could know better than Christ what it's like to be persecuted for being different. At least that's what i like to believe anyway

Gosh, 16 answers, now 17, and only one intelligent one. But it may be a record here.

If GOD could just make humans so easily why would he want two people to procreate at all?

They want to feel accepted and given a pass over God's Word. A very dangerous game they are playing with eternal consequences on the table.
