Its our own fault, as we "learn" to be impressive... It is why when I find an interesting news, I look for other stories related to it from accross multiple sources around the world...
When you figure out which company is own by which one, it is easy to see all the sides of a story... But sadly its not everybody that have time to do this, most are so much taken by their daily routine, that it is almost impossible for them to avoid it...

propaganda has always been around, i dont think propaganda is the problem. the problem is the americans have grown much more dumb as a society in the last couple of decades. people take what they hear as the ultimate truth. in america it is a tradition to not trust your government, that was the foundation of the constitution. government is not good so lets keep it as restrained as possible, but that requires and informed citizen, which we no longer have many of in recent years.

If you mean troops being recklessly deployed and all politicians/activists (both right and left) can do is point fingers then yes I believe it is terrible. Bush admitted that our reasons for invading Iraq were not justified and yet people continue with the blame game. There is blame and there is responsibility. We are short on the later.

Here's a link to Bush's admission

Does this pertain to joining the military?

If so, joining is on a volunteer basis. It's up to the person interested in enlisting/commissioning to verify what they're told and make the right decision for themselves.

If you signed on, it means you know what was back of policy. If you knew that, you - didn't - do it for altruistic reasons.

Or patriotism.

The question is:

Now that you've signed onto a lie, how do you exit -
' gracefully ' - or back off from what the consequences of a lie imply?

If we are being taken advantage of it is our fault. We have the power to change things. If we accept everything the government shovels at us then we deserve it.

We're "wising up"- little by little. I'm HOPING we learned something from the 2000 Election. We "bought" & paid for- what we swallowed back then. Let's see what happens NEXT year... :)
