My nationality is American. If you are a citizen of the U.S. that is your nationality. For someone to identify their nationality by the country their ancestors came from is an error.

My racial and ethnic background is varied.

Irish, orange and green on my father's side.
But some marriages made in Ireland by ancestors brought in a little French, a little Italian, a little Austrian, a little Spanish.

My mother's father was Polish, Polish Jew, German and American Indian

Her mother was English, Scotch Irish, Alsatian German and French Huguenot.

My ancestors are primarily English/French. My mother's side of the family dates back to the 11th century in England and are listed in the Domesday Book census taken by William the Conqueror in 1086. My Dad's family includes the Holy Roman Emperor, Charlemagne, of France, as an ancestor. An aside note to beerkat88--since you don't permit emails--Yes, there are black Irishmen (due to slavery, if you recall your history lessons), and my family has several blonde/blue-eyed people who have Cherokee Indian ancestors. So that is possible too.

I have a great lineage!
These are proven direct lines:
Highlander/Scotch who was a leader of the 1st Jacobite Rebellion
Deported to US (colonies)
Married a Cherokee princess

Makes me a bit hard to get along with at times :-)

Other side:

Long line of Irish, Welsh, German
Mean, hard, fighters

Mixed with Some of the 1st Methodist Circuit Riders in Missouri and surrounding country.

That's just the beginning - needless to say I am not sure if I am going to Heaven or Hell, tend to fly off the handle, want my way, want to save others, believe in God, but find it difficult to follow the rules. Oy!

My great-grandfather on my dad's side fled from Palestine before it was occupied by the Jews, so my father's family now resides in Jordan. Then my father moved here in search of a better life. My mother's father comes from a not-yet occupied city in Palestine, although he came to America in search of something more. So technically I'm full blood Palestinian.
