It was written by Oswald Chambers. I would like to hear if anyone was changed by this book or from those who have read and has not been changed by it.

I have it and don't often read it. Why? I get so convicted! Really! Since you asked I will dig it out and see "what's up" with that!

I have read it over a number of times. We use it as a devotional and read one day at a time. It is so amazing! It is written for the seasoned believer. (It was actually written for ministerial students.) His words are profound and sometimes harsh when we need it. I would not recommend it to an immature or baby Christian. It is pretty meaty. There was a time when a beloved music minister passed away and we were in deep mourning. The day's devotional was about the changing of the guard from Elijah to Elisha and the transfer of the mantle of leadership. What a perfect description for us as we faced bringing on a new minister. I do recommend using the modern version as the original may be difficult to grasp sometimes. Thanks for the question.

It is written as a daily devotional. It is profound. I am going through my second round with it.
I suggest for some people that they get the updated language version.
In the older version some of the verb usage and syntax can be confusing if you are not familiar with that style of writing.

I highly recommend it.
