If I ask about Islam: Islam is terrorist.
If I ask about porn filters: Why would you want a porn filter porn is cool.
If I ask about how an ant lives: Do I look like a damned ant to you?
If I ask about how much a fireman makes: Go jump into a fire and find out.

Point is..I am sick and tired of this sarcasm when I seek serious answers. Now I know one of you will have to answer this question with sarcasm as well, because it's a trigger for you, but I don't understand when I'm going to get a serious/valid answer.

Peace.

It seems that some people are just on here to see who can be the funniest or most sarcastic.

I know it sucks when you are looking for a serious answer and someone responds with stupid stuff.

Then there are the ones who ask stupid questions just to be mean or to see who can give the most sarcastic answer.

I guess some people have nothing else to do but make themselves out to be idiots on here.

You'll always get sarcastic or wisecrack answers here. I give wisecrack answers all the time. Bear in mind that part of the reason for this is simply because so many of the questions themselves simply aren't serious, or sometimes are meant to be insulting and not someone looking for a legitimate answer. It's just the nature of a public forum. If you word your questions in a serious manner and keep anything that might seem derogatory out of the question, that tends to get better results--sometimes asking a second or third time, rephrasing the question slightly, also fishes for more answers of better quality.

In reference to your recent Islam question, I think it's fair to mention that for non-Muslims, seeing someone ask a question about the hijab and simultaneously say "I'm sick and tired of seeing women not wearing the hijab" is only going to invite negative responses towards Islam. Islam itself has a negative connotation these days with most Westerners, who believe in womens' rights and see forced headcoverings for women, which is law in some Muslim countries, as being blatantly oppressive. If you live in a non-Muslim country or a secular country, it's hardly fair to say you're sick of seeing women not wearing the hijab--particularly if they're not Muslims in the first place. It's not meant to insult you... but bear in mind where most people here are coming from.

Hey! I do not have a hidden agenda! I really wanted to learn from you! I have many, many Muslim friends. And some have decided to cover in the past few years and it has been a deeply religious experience for them. I just never thought about it from the perspective you were just stating...about a man who was bothered by living in a culture where Hijab wasn't the norm, even though it was just strangers he was seeing uncovered, not family or friends or even Western women who don't know how offensive it is to not cover when they go to parts of the world where it IS considered offensive no to cover. I really wanted to see it from this point of view.

Anyway, what did you expect? Even the most innocent, un-controversial of questions here get nasty responses. Ask what is everyone's favorite color and you are going to be called names.

Well...are you going to tell me what you think?

Um. Well, I can only guess, but my best estimate is:
44.
You must get insulted on this Y!A forum 44 times.

No sarcasm intended; that answered your question.
Perhaps the problem is how you're phrasing your questions. Well, that and so many people ask questions for which they expect no answer.

There are always sarcastic answers. Some *live* for sarcasm. However, if you ask serious questions, you should also receive some serious answers.
