My baby is almost a year old now and I still cannot take off the baby weight. I still the same amount I did when I gave birth. My OB says this is normal. But "normal" is fat and I tried everything. Running.. eating healthy.. nothing is working.

The American College of Sports Medicine offers guidelines for cardiovascular, flexibility and resistance training. The guidelines are flexible enough to allow you to pick your own exercises but have enough structure to get you going when you first start out. They are pretty easy to follow and will make your workout easier and more efficient.

Get out and walk and also follow the South Beach Diet, go to the bookstore and get a book on the diet and follow it don't join the South Beach Diet plan but follow what it says in the book on carbs, proteins, and sugars. Get out and walk in a safe place with a friend about 1/2 mile a day to start off with or get a stationary bike if you don't want to walk! And you will loose weight! I went from 270 to 196 so if I can do it so can you this was over a period of about a year and a half! But what ever you do don't get discouraged keep it up and you will see results!!!

Good luck and don't expect to loose weight all the time it will come off in spurts!

find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)
