I've read many postings about Father's Day gifts - but most are written by women, and let's admit it - our thoughts on what you like are usually different than what you think - so what do you want for Father's Day?

(sorry if you posted already to the other category wher eI asked, but wanted it was suggested to post here.)

yah that's frustrating..I hate getting gifts that are not something that I said "Hey i want that". Just ask the man what he wants... surprises are cool and such, but if it's something that I dont have an immediate need for (and face it..we ask for what we need/want) then it is kind of a waste of money b/c it sits there in the corner gathering dust.

I like getting something personalized relating to my daughters, stuff for my office, clothing. Sometimes if i need something at the moment, that's what i ask for. I agree with the asking part. I love my wife dearly, but last year she (my girls aren't old enough) got me a beach chair and a cooler for father's day... A few days before the holiday I said that I couldn't wait for it to get warm so we could head to the beach and that sparked an idea. Just ask.

I'm a father and a grandfather (and I'm only 39). Speaking on behalf of most men, I'd have to say that we love TOYS, any and all kinds of toys. I'm not kidding, you can't go wrong with a good toy . Electronic toys are my favorite, but since the birth of my grandson (9 months old) I really enjoy playing with his toys. Men are kids at heart, and toys remind us of that. Hope this helps.

I know I am a woman but does it count if I tell you what my husband has asked for? A gift card to Fry's (electronic store)

I always thought he was just kidding when Dad responded:

" All I want is peace and quiet."

But just MAYBE...
