I was perusing a local gun shop with a friend of mine today, and I noticed a slightly used H&K USP 45 selling for $800. I told the store owner that I would sleep on it. I know H&Ks usually cost more than that, but it's still a little pricey for my taste. Is this a once in a lifetime deal on a like-new pistol that I should take, or is there a way to get them for even less?

I buy USP 40's and 45's for around $650.00 to $700.00 new all day long. Unless its a tactical or Marksman, I think its way over priced. The P2000 will draw those prices new, but we are talking about used here. Heres the values on those handguns your looking at. I would suggest shopping some if I were you !

- 9mm, .40S&W, .45acp., DA/SA/DAO, 10 (C/B1994), 13* (reintroduced late 2004), or 16 (optional, new 2005, needs jet funnel modification) shot mag., 27.75 oz. New 1993.

MSR $859

$750---$675--$550--$500--$450---$395--$350

A desert tan or finish became available during 2005 at no extra charge (includes matching nylon carrying case).
Add $102 for Tritium sights (various colors, new 1993).

With it being a tactical model and the extra clips then yes you getting yourself into a good thing. I would still wheel & deal with him as much as possible. Congrats on your choice to own possibly the best handgun in modern times !

Good Luck & Happy Shooting !!

I think it is over priced. It falls into the category of a "Leverite". That means that you should leave 'er right there. You can do better, you just have to keep on searching and don't get in a hurry. Better prices are out there.
