You have to treat it like you would if you got gum in your hair. Get some ice cubes and cool the gum down and try to pick it out. If this doesn't work get out the shaver.

Mineral oil, olive oil, veggie oil..peanut butter. Most oils will disolve gum pretty well. Use whatever you have. Ice might work well too, as it gets the gum hard and brittle. But it might annoy the dog if it gets cold. It would probably love to be rubbed with peanut butter. LOL.

Wash her paw with cold water, trim off as much gum as you can with small scissors. Then rub her paw with peanut butter and use a cold wet wash clothe to rub as much off as you can. She will lick the residue off herself. Not a huge problem

Use some ice. Put two ice cubes with the gum between. Once the gum freezes, it'll break apart.

Look for a chopping knife. And when you find it...put it away you dont need it.

Gently apply some olive oil on the affected area. and wash it off with soap when the gum loosens up.

try to get it out ASAP! Many gums contain a sweetener called xylitol, which is toxic to dogs if ingested! Do you what need to get it out, even if you have to cut the hair. Use peanut butter to try to unstick any thats left.

Rinse it under warm (not hot) water and scrub gently with a safe non toxic soap.
