Well, there is freedom of religion, and it doesnt seem so for Christians because they always get beat down. they cannot put a cross up to commemorate and stuff becuase there will always be a person complaining that it bothers them to see a cross near their workplace. what bothers me the most is that people do acutally take action against Christianity and when it comes to other non monotheistic religions they say something like "its our freedom of religion." im so ticked off.

Aaron - you anger yourself due to your own ignorance.

No one says Christians cant put up a cross - what they say is that, if YOU can put up a cross, then a Jew can put up their symbols, and a Muslim is free to display their symbols in public places. That upsets Christians, who then decide to take down their symbols in retaliation and blame it incorrectly on everyone else.

This is what happened in Seattle last Xmas. A jew went to the Washington Airport Authority and said that if Xmas displays were going to be up in the airport, a public building, then Jewish ones too should be displayed. The airport told the Rabbi to get screwed. So, he sued. When he sued, the airport made the decision to remove the xmas decorations, and then blamed JEWS for it!

People take action against Christianity because it is the dominant religion in this country, and it overshadows all others. It pervades the public, without consideration that not every American citizen is a Christian.

So, chill out bro. No one is attacking you or Chrisitanity.

Buddy, you have total freedom of religion. You can put a cross, nativity scene, whatever you like on your property. You can go to church night and day. That's not good enough for you though is it?Freedom of religion TO YOU means "everybody worship Christ"You are just as sick as the Mullahs, different name, same BS. What don't you get?How is freedom of religion putting YOUR crap in MY public building?I just got through defending your right to get together and pray at school. Now I see why some just want to eliminate it.You aren't happy with freedom of religion, you have that. You will only be happy when you take everyone Else's freedom of religion. That crap is just plain disgusting

Aww, poor little persecuted Christian.

How would you feel if someone wanted to put up a pentacle at that sight? Would you have a problem with that? What about an Islamic crescent?

Come off it, there would be a baying for blood if those things were done. Or if the Hindu scriptures on morality were put up in a courtroom.

If you do not want someone else's religion imposed on you, then do not impose yours on someone else.

You are at liberty to go stick your cross on your church grounds, not on public areas.

Oh, grow up! We don't want a cross burned on our lawn?
imagine that? That is a pagan symbol that has nothing to do with Christianity. We don't cut the heads off people who choose to believe different from us. We don't gas whole villages of Kurds or Catholics because they believe different from us. So you can't put a cross on a political building because we don't mix church and state.
Well ,if we did your religion probably wouldn't be allowed.
But as it is we can worship what we want with out haveing arms legs and heads cut off.
Get un ticked off or move.

Yes, you Christians are a downtrodden, oppressed lot. You're the single most powerful and largest religious group on the planet and you live in a country that has had a member of your religion running it's government since it won it's independence. How can you stand the injustice?

You can place a cross in your yard, and paint the house in the 10 commandments for all anyone cares. The problem is Government and public lands, you can do whatever you want with your churches and houses,But the park, the courts and the schools belong to everyone

There is a freedom of religion for every religion. It's just Christianity in this country is trying to force it on other people.

I think that's just how it is for those who are the majority or for those who have the power and control. Everyone cannot be pleased.

I don't know if "beat down" is the right way to describe it though. But hey, Yahoo! is as good a place to vent your frustration as any :o)

You can put up a cross on any land you own. Just make sure you get a building permit. Cities and counties get persnickety about that sort of thing.

Religious symbols should not be displayed on publicly held land.

Persecution complex, eh?

Well, it'll warm your little heart that there is a publicly visible cross within a stones throw of where I live. And, I haven't requested that it be taken down, because it's on church property. :)
