i've found the majority of christians don't believe in extraterrestrial life of any kind. why is it? is it written in the bible somewhere? if we were ever visited by intelligent life from another planet or if we ever found remnants of life on a distant planet would that change your thinking? or would you still deny that life can and probably does exist on other planets?

I'm Christian and naturally often wonder if there is life on other planets. Just because we don't know for sure, doesn't mean there isn't any. God could have created them as well. Guess we won't know until we get to Heaven and can ask.

I have to wonder at statements like this. Majority implies you've talked to a everyone who claims to be Christian and have compiled accurate data.

That said, I'm not so sure Christians don't believe their could be life on other planets. Those I know are more concerned with following God and making the changes to their lives they need to make. Some I know enjoy the idea. Others don't think it's very relevant. Still others don't think it's possible, not from a Biblical standpoint, mostly just because they don't believe it. There is also a group that thinks the Bible was meant for this world so it's not an authority on any other, just an authority on God and His attributes.

Because God created the earth and man for a reason. It doesn't indicate anywhere that there are aliens every where.

It wouldnt happen.

Life cannot exist on other planets only the earth is habitable. It has been proven. We are just far enough from the sun to not freeze and not close enough to burn. Our moon helps the gravitional pull. We have water no other planet does. On and on...we are located in the best place in the solar system, etc. There is a great DVD about why the earth is a special place unlike what that fellow said 50 years ago.

Dont waste your time on these thoughts; look to Jesus and be saved

As a Christian, I dont have a problem with there being life elsewhere in the universe. God's law would apply there the same way they do on this planet.

I don't deny the possibility of extraterrestrial life, I just don't believe that there is.

Call me an agnostic on that subject, but one that is heavily leaning towards extraterrestrial atheism.

well, that question is too hypothectical for christians, since it hasn't happen yet. besides, proof of extraterrestrials would be proof that there is another god and that would must a lot of people's head up.

Because if there was sentient life elsewhere in the universe humanity would no longer be 'special'.

Also fear that they will not have the same god.
