You can get excerpts from, and articles by the author of a pregnancy/birth book that's _not_ an unscientific, intervention-happy, patronising, scare-mongering bit of rubbish here:

From the Amazon.com "What to Expect" reviews:

This is a terrible book. My informal survey of friends shows that women scientists and engineers tend to hate this book. It's wordy, it's filled with obvious common sense suggestions, and it lacks precise information. This book insulted my intelligence and wasted my time.

I find the structure, pedantic tone, perfectionist attitude, and the entire book irritating. I thought it was THE book to get before becoming pregnant, but now I think it's the book NOT to get.

It may have been intended as a self-help guide but instead seems to act more as a bible for every worst-case scenario imaginable.

Well, I dont know about a website other than amazon.com sometimes lets you read the first 10 pages or something like that, but I got that book for $5 at a baby concignment (spelling?) store. I am sure that if there are any used baby gear stores, they will have that book for cheap! Good luck.

Hit up a resale shop, especially one that specializes in babies. You can probably find on there, the library, or some ob-gyn offices give it to you.
