The Bible is a Myth ( hence Eve created from Adams rib then they lived for 1000 years), plus I have heard many Christians state "Christianity is not a religion.

So , Why are they in the R&S section?

No. The simple difference is that Christianity and Judaism are major religions, reguardless of whether their holy books contain myths. Mythology and Folklore are the study of religions of the past, or, in some cases, have so very, very few followers that they are categorized as such. Although some ancient religions have seen a resurgence in recent years, the numbers are as yet too insignificant to be re-classified. Religion: mass followings in the present. Myth and Folklore: dead religions or very rare ones. As a Biblical Scholars study the myths in the scriptures. Myths are symbolic tales imparting important theological messages or explanations about the natural world according to the ancient peoples limited knowledge. This is not the same thing as fiction or lies. Sorry, what christians say Christianinty isn't a religion? Be carefull who you listen to. Most religious people have little or no understanding of their sacred texts. Talk to a university professor so you get some straight answers.

No. Mythology is subjective. A Christian follows Christianity as a religion, while viewing Islam as a mythology. Similarly, a Muslim follows the Islamic religion, viewing Christianity as a mythology.

The reason the ancient Greek, Roman, and other old religious traditions are generally known as "mythologies" is because so few believe in those ancient ways.

Actually, it is. It is a sub-section of M & F on Yahoo! What do you base your statement on? That the Bible is a myth? The Bible is one of the few sacred books in history to name specific people, places and dates. Just in case you wanted actual historical markers to research.

The stories in the Bible are myths, but Christianity is a religion. So those who practice Christianity, that is Christians, are practicing a religion. Hence R&S section.

Plus it's spiritual.

I apologize for the fools who don't comprehend your reference to the stories of the Bible. ('Ello, I'm sorry to say this luffs, but, although certain things happened it can't be proven that it was because of God or magic or anything.)

I think they're exempt because some people still believe it's true.

Having said that there are still people who believe in Thor, so maybe the myths section and this one should be joined together.
