MUHUMMED(pbuh):Is a true prophet of God according to the Bible

(a) " . . Every spirit (meaning every prophet) that confesses that Jesus Christ is come in flesh is of God 1 JOHN 4.2
Compare with Holy Qur'an 3:45 and many other Qur'anic references where Jesus (pbuh) is referred to as the CHRIST.
MUHUMMED (PBUH) MENTIONED BY NAME IN THE BIBLE:

(b) "his mouth is most sweet: yea, he is (Muhummed-im) altogether lovely, this is my beloved, and this is my friend, O
daughters of Jerusalem. SONG OF SOLOMON 5:16 From the original Hebrew manuscript the word
"MUHUMMEDIM", is translated as "altogether lovely' which is actually the word MUHUMMED with "im" added.
"IM" is the plural of respect in the Hebrew language. MUHUMMED A "COMFORTER" LIKE JESUS, PEACE BE
UPON THEM

(c) "And I will pray the father, and he shall give you ANOTHER Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever.
JOHN 14:16
Jesus (pbuh) was the first Comforter, and ANOTHER would have to be one like him, of the same kind as Jesus, a man
and not a Ghost.

After reading the link I fail to see where Muhammad was prophesied in either the New or Old Testament. The Old Testament pointed to the Christ. The New Testament points to the return of Jesus. No where in any of the translations I have studied does it talk of an "unlettered" prophet.

The site also seems to be saying two things. First that a prophet does not have to be foretold. The author uses Moses and Abraham as examples. Moses, however, was prophesied by God to Abraham when he told Abraham the Hebrews would be 400 years in bondage then God would send a deliverer.

Second that Muhammad was prophesied. It states the Jews and Christians were looking for a prophet. That doesn't mean Muhammad. The Jews have been looking at the prophesies of Isaiah for millennium and the Christians have been looking for the return of Jesus for 2000 years. Muhammad doesn't actually fit with any prophesies for either Jew or Christian.

(1) Old Testament prophecy about prophet like Moses
Deuteronomy 18:15-21
* Its is stretching things too far to claim that the prophet of their own people ('of their brethren') would be of Ishmael's line. The Ishmaelites hadn't been regarded as kin as far as I know (they aren't spoken of). Moab and Edom are (which were descended from Lot and Esau according to tradition). I thin Ishmael seriously disliked Isaac so was not regarded as kin. Over 400 years had passed since Abraham's time. I'm not sure if there were any references to Ishmaelites since the mention of them selling Joseph into slavery in Genesis; I can't remember any later references. The sensible and obvious meaning is of the Israelites (Israel=Jacob, son of Isaac, son of Abraham)

* This prophecy ends up saying that a prophet such as the one promised is to actually make prophecies, and that these should be seen to be fulfilled or the guy is a false prophet.

Did mohammed make any prophecies about events in his own life that required God to fulfil (and not his own military action etc) ?

* Jesus explicitly claims to have fulfilled this when He says in the gospel of John to the pharisees that moses spoke about Him - John 5:46.

(2) New Testament prophecy about paraklete
* just take the first instance, the context makes it very clear it is talking about the Holy Spirit.

John 16:13 However, when the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth

Just read the verse before this!....
John 16:12 "There is much more that I could say to you, but the burden would be too great for you now."

Note that this explains why he said verse 13 ! They were too tired to take it in at that time, but Jesus was sending the Spirit of truth. He was speaking to the disciples.

They would not be physically alive 600 years later to receive the mortal Mohammed, for heaven's sake. Acts 2 is the obvious coming of the Spirit. It is a key passage in the bible. The Acts contains many supernatural events and signs that are because the new-born Church had the Holy Spirit to empower their mission. You can see Him at work today in christian missions.

* Why is there no coming of the Holy Spirit in Islam if Islam really is some superior revelation ? Because God won't give the Holy Spirit except in response to His message of salvation ...

The wonderful Holy spirit can't be commanded by self-proclaimed prophets !

qed - case disproved / /

Your quoted website is twisting prophecies to fit Mohammed, and missing out parts that show Mohammed couldn't be a fit.

Wether you believe through Christianity, Islam or Judism, it is all the same in the eyes of God according to Islam. Islam teaches that as a muslim we must respect all faiths of the holy books that came before the Quran, meaning the Bible and the Torah.

Allah is Arabic for Almightly God. We all beleive in the same God. How we believe is different but as a muslim it is not our place to judge the other religions or believers. The problem comes with humanity. Too many people believe with their passions and not with their head. They believe with so much passion it can blind them. No believer of any religion is immune to this. The believers of God are all guilty of this as is proof all over the world and especially in the middle east.

So when it is said that the Bible has proof of Muhammad, does it really matter? Once we can get over ourselves and just worship to better ourselves as a believer it does not matter how another believes just as long as they believe.

that article Quotes the Quran as evidence of this prophecy you claim. Christians and Jews don't study the Quran as holy truth and therefore don't find it credible. It's the same reason why quoting Bible versus to Atheists is ineffective: they don't believe in it.

Go to Spubs.com it will give you a whole lot more information.

Many people know the truth but they choose to follow their own desires. Muslims believe that only Allah can guide you to Islam. People can know the truth but go against it in spite of knowing the truth. Islamic Monotheism is the belief that No diety has the right to be worhipped in truth but Allah. Allah means Almighty God.

There are people from the Jewish race that are Muslims and Christians who convert. Muslims are every shade, color, and nationality. Arabs only make up 17 percent of the Muslims the greatest population of Muslims in Indonesia.

Also The Torah which was the message sent by Allah to Moses ( May Allah Bring Peace and Blessings upon him) is called the Old testament by the Christians, and the Injil ( The Christians call this the New Testament) which was the message that was sent to Jesus (may Allah bring peace and blessings upon him.

The bible has been changed, do some research.

You gotta be kidding right? The same Muhammad that taught Jesus wasn't really God's Son and wasn't ressurected? Whoever came up with this theory is misinterpreting bible verses. Muslims don't even accept the New Testament as God's word, now they use the same thing they criticize to claim it gives Muhammad credibility?

I don't trust a website that doesn't get the facts straight. Judaism has the Torah, not the Bible.

the only things the Bible say about Muhammed are in Genesis 16:11, and when Jesus says "there will be many anti-christs".

the Holy Spirit, later revealed in Acts, is the paraklete Jesus speaks of, not Muhammed.

Yes, I had a very close look at that website. As a Biblical Scholar, I have to say I am once again amazed to see how many pseudo-academic Islamic websites there are out there. Who are these guys? They have no idea what they are talking about. It's embarrassing, really.
