...repeat the phrase, "nobody's perfect, everyone makes mistakes" when they don't want to take responsibility for their poor behavior? Do they teach you to say this at church? It's sort of like, "love the sinner, hate the sin" and "blah blah blah judgement day". Seriously do you guys practice these phrases in front of a mirror?

Have you ever watched adult bible education classes in a baptist or evangelical church? It's scary stuff. They actually pull out catch phrases and whoever is leading the group makes everyone else repeat the phrases. This isn't just something they do with kids. And in their ministry group meetings they actually address certain questions and TELL their followers what to say and have them repeat "answers". So it's true - in some instances they are given the phrases and they do practice them.

It because we don't want people to feel like they are forever doomed to Hell for somthing that they did wrong. Humans have the nature to make mistakes and they teach you in church that you need to try your best not to sin, but if you do, its not the end of the world. God is ALWAYS forgiving and He loves you regardless of if you love Him back. You are to never hate people, because that in itself is sinful nature. The sin comes form the Devil and we are to avoid these temptations. Nobody else is or ever will come close to how perfect God is!

I am the only one who can be responsible for my own behavior. However, when one says "Christians are hypocrites," or the like, it is the only response that is available, because in fact we are not perfect followers of Christ. If we were, there would be no room for growth, no testimonies to share, and heaven would already be here on Earth. I have to work on myself daily for things such as patience, depression, anxiety. But when I slip up, and I will, I pray and keep on going just like everyone else does.

I wouldn't say this is some statements that only christians say.

I am wondering, though, if you are pushing a point too much.

But I need more clarification regarding your question.

We recognize that we are not perfect just forgiven. And there for because God has forgiven us - it is our responsibility to extend forgiveness to those that have injured us.
No we do not practice in front of a mirror - we try to practice it in life.

Why do you address the question to Christians ? I believe the statements are used by others as well.

Maybe not in front of a mirror but in front of each other so that they can rate each other's performance and believability factor :o)
