Step One
Bathe or shower in cool water to bring down your overall body temperature. Soak for 10 to 15 minutes.
Step Two
Peel the skin from an aloe vera leaf and gently lay on the burn. Or, apply 100 percent aloe vera gel to soothe the pain and promote healing.
Step Three
Aspirin, ibuprofen or acetaminophen can ease the stinging and swelling somewhat.
Step Four
If your legs or arms are sunburned, keep them elevated.
Step Five
If your eyelids are burned, place chilled, damp tea bags over them to soothe them.
Step Six
Sleep in loose-fitting pajamas or nothing to reduce pain.
Step Seven
Stay out of the sun for several days while your skin heals, or at least keep sunburned body parts covered up with a hat and protective clothing.
Step Eight
If you experience blistering, fever, chills or weakness as a result of your sunburn, contact your doctor. Do not pop the blisters or apply lotions or gels to them.
Step Nine
In the future, follow the "slip, slop, slap" rule: Slip on a longsleeved shirt, slop on some broad-spectrum sunscreen (15 SPF or higher), and slap on a hat and sunglasses whenever you're going outside, especially between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., when the sun's strongest. Use 25 SPF or higher if you'll be exposed for an extended period or are fair-skinned. Reapply sunscreen liberally every 1 to 2 hours (more frequently if you are swimming or sweating).
Glad I could help! Hope your sunburn gets soothed!

How bad is it? If there are blisters forming do NOT, I repeat- DO NOT put aloe on it! It will just make it worse! I had 2nd degree sunburns on my face a few years back- Aloe made it worse. Go to your doctor, he will prescribe you something that will help, with out irritating the blisters. Or, go to a local pharmacy and see what they say. Do NOT think that sticking your body next to cold is going to make it better. Once the cold is gone, the heat will hurt more... That sucks, but good luck!! I hope you feel better soon!

Well, everyone recommends aloe vera and it does work but another great trick that my family has always used is oatmeal. you can use regular and oatmeal mixed with water and rub it on burned areas but that's kinda messy. Look for bath oils and soothing bath beads that have oatmeal in them for the same effect. You can actually get epsom salts with natural oatmeal for that very reason. its perfect to soak in this time of year after a day of too much sun. Good luck.

Get a bottle of Aloe Vera Gel. Just apply a thin layer of that stuff on the burnt area twice a day. It's really effective and it will restore your skin right back. Good Luck!

The best things I've found are aloe vera gel or plain old Noxzema cream. If either of these don't help, see your doctor--he can prescribe Lidocaine gel--a topical anaesthetic. (you may have to ask for it by name.
DON'T put vinegar on it, or take a vinegar or baking soda bath, These old time "remedies" really do more harm than good. I recommend sponge baths until you stop hurting--which I hope is soon!!!

VINEGAR! Depending on where it's located... if it's on your face put the vinegar on a cotton ball and rub it on like make up remover but don't get it in your eyes.
If it's on a larger part then I would just stand in the shower and pour it over me. Vinegar will immediately take the burn out of it. Just rinse off with water so you don't smell like you've just been canned.

Putting on some sun cream beforehand does wonders for sunburn. But I guess the best thing for sunburn is calemine lotion.
