I am 16 wks and though I will not be having a shower ANY time soon my mom asked me to pick a theme because someone wants to do something "special" for me. I don't know the sex yet so I was trying to find something UNISEX.

Tell her your theme is gift cards. JK! But you are right, it's hard to know a theme when you don't know the sex.
Head out to Baby's R Us and look around. Pick your favorite girl's theme and favorite Boys. That way, if any gifts are given (hopefully they will give a gift receipt) you can return it. Unless, the gift is a blanket. If that's the case, tell them pink, baby blue and white. I had blankets made for me as an infant that were these colors and it's perfect for any sex.

I am looking forwarding to choosing all that fun stuff when I get pregnant. Try looking online at JC Pennies, Target or any other department stores you can think of. You may not want to buy from there, but you can get lots of ideas on what you will like. They show wall colors, bedding, furniture, etc... I personally like the brown & green stripes & polka dots theme. I also like old school stuff like Winnie the Pooh, baby animals, etc... Lambs are cute too. Anyway, there is so much to choose from, Good Luck!!

Rubber Ducks, Teddy Bears, or other animals like Frogs and Turtles would be good for a unisex theme.

A rainforest theme or maybe an under the sea theme like Little Mermaid, nothing too girlie though. Just ocean-like theame. Boys and girls love both themes!

that's funny...i asked my daughter the same question last week (21 weeks)...we don't know the sex yet either...she told me she wanted a beach/surf theme...she said it was her party, and that's what she wanted...we'll have a couple of "baby" decorations, but mostly surf & beach stuff (we're hawaiian, and we live near the beach in NC)
