It means he's going to spend the summer with other women and doing whatever he wants. Then in the fall he wants you to call him and if's not with anyone, he might consider you.

Sounds like this guy is going away for the summer, or has plans and is not really into you right now.
I would leave it be. If he is really into you, he will get in touch with you. You should not have to bug him at all.

Maybe he's not allowed to date until next school year (if he's young), or he's tied up now, or going somewhere in the summer; but it most likely means he likes you. Go for it!

I'm assuming that you are of school age.
He probably means that he will call you when summer's over, and he sees you back at school.
