We are put into the extremely difficult circumstances of life, and we do the best we can at muddling throught it, knowing that all our efforts will ultimately just result in death, and probably a good deal of suffering before death. . .why do we need to be forgiven for doing what we can with a bad situation? If anyone needs to be forgiven, it's God, for putting us in such a lousy situation (disease, poverty, floods, drought, you name it).

why are non-Christians so obsessed with the idea that we're wrong?

God didn't make the world like this. He made it good and we decided to mess it up. we keep Him out of our world, and we put ourselves in bad situations. how is that God's fault? we murder. our choice. we rape. our choice. we treat human beings as the beasts of the field. our choice. we spit upon God and all that is holy. our choice. we do immoral things, and evoke natural consequences. our choice. as far as I'm concerned, humanity is the wickedest thing that exists....

Our first parents disobeyed the God whom they knew well. They rebelled, showing their faithlessness in that act. So what has befallen us thereafter was a result of their actions, and not God's so don't be blaming God.

He does not compromise with sin, it being ultimately defined as faithlessness.

Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

So what mankind experiences is a result of the choice made by Adam and Eve; a life without God and faith in Him.

But God has provided a way for mankind to return to Him and receive the blessings where there is no suffering, etc. So the real question is whether you are going to turn to God or remain dead in your sins.

1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Its a psychological thing, a lot of people unconsciously have shame and guilt for things they've done in the past and we want to be forgiven for them, we want to be released from them.
The concept is that God, unlike humans, is able to forgive us immediately, whole heatedly, when we first ask it. Most humans struggle with forgiving others when they have hurt us. God stressing of forgiveness is very important for self growth.

i have no clue...
no one does all people can do is have faith, and hope in whatever we can, i don't think that its really anything that we can obtain, but something we must learn, from someone or something, not only forgiveness, but pride . i don't think god gives us any situation, but we make it ourselves. truthfully i think that there is always a good outcome, you only need to look hard enough. I'm not sure if God is real, because i always doubt, but every time i say that to myself i always correct myself because (not meaning to be lame) we plan our future, we cause the worlds future, if someone is murdered do we blame God, the Murderer, our self, or others? it is our responsibility to create a future. so to be forgiven, and to forgive is something that will always be rewarded. even after death, because i think even after death there is a future, that we can still create. who makes bombs causes poverty, how can we say that when ITS HAPPENING RIGHT BEFORE US! (sorry to sound all tough and stuff)

because of these situations, God did do something.. he created you
now tell me if God ALWAYS forgives, why is there a hell?
my answer: faith

If you completely take religion out of the situation for a moment, I think that repentance is the only thing that gets us through sometimes. We all make mistakes, and most of us aren't capable of just thinking, "Oh well, I screwed up. I hurt someone. Life goes on." Part of recovering from a bad situation is accepting that you did the wrong thing and trying to do better.

Really, that's all that Jesus taught ... to recognize when you've messed up and make a commitment to try to do better the next time.

We are all sinners, and we ask for forgiveness for what we have done, and for what we have failed to do. God has given us a free will and we as humans often make the wrong choices. What God ask of us is to repent, and when we do and ask to be forgiven God will forgive us. Blaming others , including God is not what we need to do, WE NEED TO REPENT, that is to be sorry for what we have done wrong. Confess our sin. Then we are absolved from our sin=forgiven .

actually, we have it pretty good. be thankful that god does not give us what we deserve. god did not put us in a lousy situation. god put man in the garden, they opened the door of sin, which led us to where we are today. so , yes, we need forgiveness.

You're mistaken. The Bible is not saying that we need to be forgiven for doing our best. Rather we need to be forgiven for sinning.

Glad I could clear that up for you. As for the Salvation Formula see http://www.bcbsr.com/topics/salvation_formula.html

I understand your feeling, but God did not put us into this situation. Our first father Adam did by sinning against God - ultimately saying he could choose for himself what to do with his life when he had everything he needed right before him. He knew the consequences, he did it anyway.

If someone told you you were wrong in a certain area you excel at, would you shoot them to shut them up or give them the chance to prove their idiocy until they realize you were right?

We need forgiveness because we inherited a sin that wasn't ours to choose. It was passed on like a dent in a bread pan. We can't rid ourselves of it.

So you are the judge of God? I think not.

"For all have fallen short of the glory of God." We are born in sin, and are forgiven for all sins when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, and live as He tells us to live, sanctified unto God.

You are not the only one that has a hard time. We all do. But I can tell you this from experience : Life is much easier when you try to live to please God, and keep Him in your life. I used to party, and do whatever I wanted to do, living for me, and pleasing me. God was nowhere in my life, thoughts, or heart. It seemed like I was always sinking further into debt, never having enough to pay what I had to, and things just always going from bad to worse. Why? Because Satan, the devourer had me enslaved, and devoured everything in my life, from finances to time for my family.

Then God delivered me. I prayed for months for Him to take the things that were not pleasing to Him away from me, if He saw that these things were keeping me from following Him.

I have been delivered from drugs, tobacco, alcohol, and other things too personal to list here. I started to try to please God, instead of pleasing me. I found a good Spirit filled church, I attend at least every Sunday morning, and once in a while on Wednesday nights ( I live 35 miles away), if I am not too tired, as I work very hard. I pay my tithes, as I should, and I try to do what I think God would want me to do.

God has been very good to me and for me. I now have money to pay my bills, buy food, and seem to always have money left to make it through until my next payday. I praise Him for all my blessings, and thank Him for His grace, which has been given to me. He is a very faithful God, and will take care of you, if you trust Him, and give Him your love, and your life.

Most people have too much pride to just turn it all over to God, but if you do, you will not be sorry that you did.

That's why.

WOW!!! you people really love yourselves. In your mind then you are saying you want to be responible to no one! you dont need forgiveness because......YOUR PERFECT! the fact is you are not. you were born INTO sin, not with it, so! if you were in fact not born into sin, then you wouldnt have desires to do evil things, like gossiping, slander, stealing, hating, lusting.....the list goes on! because of what you are living in, you MUST ask for forgiveness. you are not perfect, God is, Jesus was God, and shed his blood as a perfect sacrafice so we could have forgiveness. without the mercy and grace that is OFFERED to you through Jesus, we would all perish. So, It is offered, you dont have to take it, but remember, you always have a consequence for your actions and decesions. God told us what the consequences are, so it is up to you to decided within yourself what you want. Forgiveness, Mercy, Eternal life in happiness with God. Or, do you want total seperation from God, Nothingness, Emptiness. Your choice.
