I cant say that I disagree 100% with the idea on an emotional level. So I will say this, if you coudl come up with an arguement that wasnt stupid and juvenile, and addressed the potential oppositions to it Id probably hop on board.
To be honest I dont see why it is any different than the lethal injection we already have. Your proposal doesnt include torture or suffering so Im not sure what it gives us that injection wouldnt.
As a general statement to anyone reading, picking a punishment for repeat violent offenders to scare them is not effective. Most of them arent scared of death.
Also, what is with you people and getting the wrong person? Are you not up to date on the legalites of the death penalty. In most states it requires DNA evidence as proof. Its not just heresay anymore that can lead to the death sentence.

"Re-introduce" beheadings???? When was beheading ever a form of execution anywhere in North America?
Secondly, the head "lives" for a while after decapitation, so technically, you'd have about 10 minutes to "think" about your impending doom. That would probably the most disturbing, and final, 10 minutes of your life.
Personally, I think death is an easy way out. I think that murderers should forced to do HARD labor, while living in solitary confinement, with only the barest necessities.

ARE YOU CRAZY?!?!?!?!? If it were up to me those kinds of people would be burned at the stake. If they caused so much suffering to friends and families of the victim then they should feel it too. There is no such thing as "humane" killings.
P.S. for those who think many are wrongly killed while the killer gets away that only happens like 0.09% of the time.

Because people and society would like to think that they have moved on from these barbaric times of old and feel that they are more civilised, But what if they did get the wrong person.

I easily have continually felt that beheading can be a suitable punishment for "celebrities" who do sleek spreads in hi mag. we are all ill of their airbrushed grins besides.

Mary W: ''actually think the death penalty reduces recidivism? Well it doesn't. "
please cite me a single case where someone executed by the State came back and broke the law again.
Re beheading- French tried it, but they stopped.

i ask myself this all the time...i would much rather be beheaded than fried, and it's less expensive than injection. it seems the logical way to go for me!

Why would that make them any more dead than lethal injection? Seems the only purpose would be to give some people their jollies.
