It was a magical day that I will never forget. All day I felt like I was floating on clouds and I realized even then that I had just received God Himself. Thanks for the memory.

I vaguely remember the priest talking about me during the homily. It was one of those first communions where all the kids came up to the sanctuary during the homily. I remember being nervous up there, but unfortunately, I don't remember how I felt when I received communion. It was the Feast of Corpus Christi and afterwards my mother gave me a first communion set with a San Damiano cross, which I used to stare at all the time.
There are some communions, though, that I do remember. Especially those where I knew for certain and felt that the moment the host hit my hand that I had just received Jesus, or the time when I went to my first Eastern rite "mass" and knew that what I was receiving was Jesus and I approached with fear and awe. I also remember the first time I realized that Jesus was present on the altar at the words of consecration. It still blows me away. There's Jesus!

To tell you the truth when I received my first communion I remember, since I was only about 5 or 6, don't chew because you will break Jesus into little pieces, and how the Eucharist got stuck to the roof of my mouth and I just couldn't find a way to get it off without breaking it.
It wasn't till much later in life that I really understood what the Eucharist was to me. It is life giving source, Grace in a way unknown to many.
I love receiving and giving Communion now, because I love the fact that I hold Christ everytime I come to the table.
God bless and have a great day.

It was a big moment in my life as well. I am glad I still remember it because, as an adult with a better understanding of the Eucharist (than I had at the time of my first Communion) it makes me appreciate that day all the more.
A few years back, I switched parishes. Since it was a smaller parish, they offered Communion Wine to the congregation as well as the Bread. The first time I took both Bread and Wine, Body and Blood, was a profoundly uplifting spiritual experience for me.

I remember a lot about that day, but I don't actually remember the moment that I received communion. I got to read one of the prayers of the faithful, and the priest wore his "child-friendly" stole with all sorts of Charlie Brown characters woven on it. (*blinks* yeah, well, it was just after Vat II... they did weird stuff back then)

I do have vivid memories of it, as an adult convert. The whole day was incredible - the retreat Saturday morning in which I relived my whole life as Jesus had seen it; Confirmation, and blurting out "et *** spiritu tuo" to the priest; and finally my wife, the Eucharistic minister that night, holding out the host.
I won't ever forget it, that's for sure.

they have been doing it for for much longer than 4 or 5 years. truly i will save in options them doing it about 15 years in the past - except that's replaced considering that then, they weren't only random parishioners they are certain those who've been blessed, or executed some thing. i do not fairly comprehend, inspite of the indisputable fact that it doesn't hardship me - human beings used to do it a lengthy time period in the past. the in ordinary words reason they replaced it (one hundred's of years in the past) so as that in ordinary words the priest might want to take care of the host replaced into because human beings used to take the host away with them, supposedly to provide it to ill kinfolk, and then scatter it on the fields to get a extra positive harvest.

I felt very honored to make my First Communion. I felt that I could finally participate in a Church rite that my parents had been taking part for a long time, and I could join them at last.

I was pretty nervous. And, yeah, we were taught NOT to bite the Host, either....I was afraid to!
