An excuse will probably hurt feelings. Perhaps speaking with the other person honestly (and nicely!). You never know if the other person feels the same way, right? Anyway, it's best to end it honestly and nicely earlier, than string the other person along with excuses. That hurts.

Be a jerk so they will break up with you. (There are a lot of tacts to take here... tell her you have lost faith in God and religion, come up with and suggest some very perverted sexual moves, tell her you want to try crack, etc..., whatever you think would work with this person.) I used this once and it worked great. She cried and cried while we had the "talk", thinking she was hurting me, and I was able to look like a big man by telling her it was okay and that I just wanted her to be happy.

Don't make an excuse. Simply tell the other person you don't feel the two of you are a good match.

No lies, no silly excuses...but also no need to be hurtful.

You can't. Someone's feelings are going to get hurt. Unless the other person wants to get rid of you too.

ummmm. . . THE TRUTH! you should NOT be making up a random excuse to break up with someone, tell them the real reason in detail so that they arent up worrying about it, but be as kind as possible. good luck!

...there is no way to "not" hurt somebody's feelings during a break-up....it's simply inevitable. Just don't be a spiteful as$ while you're doing it please. Nobody deserves the devastating pain of abandonment and dissolution. Believe me...it sucks!
