as opposed to simply desiring it? example: If your house was on fire... all you would think about would be saving your own life you wouldn't care that you've lost everything that you've worked so hard to gain because none of that matters... please I have been thinking about this for months...

I know this sounds crazy: Only reply if you are christian, I heard God's voice, GRABBING MY SHIRT, with a sense of severity and urgency that I had never experienced before... the kind of voice you would hear if somebody was standing behind you with an axe and ready to chop your arm off but you weren't aware of it... and I heard God warn me... things just come at the right time when you NEED TO USE IT!!!

I stopped following God and if I am not sanctified through this man in marriage, and stabilized by his hand... I will lose all the spiritual ground that I've covered in the last 11 years of my life and regress to the emotional maturity of a child...

Why is this a dating question?

If you are desperate for a relationship, you will scare most people off. Ironically, you are more likely to attract people if you act as if you could live without them, but you just don't feel like it. Maybe it is because many people assume that desperate people become stalkers.

If you are desperate for something in a store, you have to pay a "wanting it" tax. The more you want something, the more likely that the seller is going to bargain up his price -- because he knows that he can (besides, almost everyone bargains for the most that they can get at the least expense to them) Likewise, if a person senses that you are desperate to have a relationship with her, then she is more likely to become high maintenance -- because she can.

===edit===

That does not sound like God's voice to me. The Bible usually describes God speaking in a still small voice.

Having said that, if you desire something too much, then you value that thing more that you value God. God does not want you to love anyone or anything more than you love him.

If you want something that God has said is no good for you, then listen to God. Be patient and wait for the right person to come along that God knows is good for you.
