You'll be fine. Excedrin is Aspirin, acetaminophen(tylenol) and caffeine. And ibruprofen 800 is just that, its ibuprofen its an nsaid like advil or motrin or aleve. Different drugs. And though people are gonna try and freak you out and say things to scare you. You'll be fine. The weird feeling you are most likley getting, is a panic attack because you're worrying yourself so much that you may have done something harmful when in reality, you'll be just fine. Just next time, try to keep tabs on when and what you take. Also, its perfectly normal for a person to be prescribed things like ibuprofen along with a narcotic, which also contains acetaminophen, such as Vicodin or Percocet. As I said before, different drugs.. so its not like you're overdosing on just one drug.. you see what I'm saying? BUT like I said.. its always better to call a pharmacy and ask to speak with a Pharmacist when you have questions about what drugs can be taken together and which ones can't.
BTW.. I am not a doctor, or RPh, I am just a former pharmacy technician who happens to have a lot of drug references.

One last thing, it will NOT make you tired, contrary to these other people. There is caffeine in Excedrin.. thats most likely why you feel funny. And like some of the people said, just try and eat a little bread or toast. Because aspirin and ibuprofen are both hard on the stomach lining.

You will most likely feel just fine again in just a couple hours.. its only 65mg of caffeine in them if I recall correctly, which is no more than whats in a can of coke. and only about a third of whats in a cup of coffee. Email me if you want me more info.

Excedrin And Ibuprofen

That probably wasn't a good idea. Ibuprofen 800 should've been strong enough...
Excedrin has both acetaminophen and aspirin. I know it's ok to take both acetaminophen and ibuprofen together - i'm not sure how safe it is to have aspirin in the mix as well.
You may want to call poison control.

Yes, it's kinda bad. Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory and excedrin is mostly a blood thinner("tylenol"). I'm not sure how long before it will be safe to take anything else. Don't be surprised if it affects your blood pressure and makes you throw up. At the onset of acute pain, take one and then alternate with the other every 3 hrs. Excedrin and Tylenol are generally better for headaches and ibuprofen( I prefer liqui-gels) is usually better for muscle pain and joint pain. If you're going to be taking the ibuprofen for any length of time, take only 200 mg at a time. It's hard on your stomach. If you're having a lot of headaches, go to a doctor that wants to find out what's causing it. Your body is trying to tell you something.

Excedrin is now a brand name for a lot of different drug combinations, so it's hard to know which one you're talking about. It's probably not a good idea to mix aspirin and ibuprofen, but mixing acetaminophen and ibuprofen is fine. If you're feeling odd, it may be the headache, not the drug combination, and depending on what "weird" is, it could mean you don't have a normal primary headache. If it's an unusual headache for you, or if the "weird" is something you haven't done before, it may be time to seek medical care, but not because of the drug admixture.

It is best NOT to take a combination of medicines, especially pain relievers. Always check with a pharmacist to see what drug combinations are safe when taken together. Ibruprofen is an anti-inflammatory. Aspirin, one ingredient in Excedrin, is also in the same class as ibuprofen - they can wreak havoc with the lining of your stomach when taken together, and are not worth the risk of bleeding ulcers, etc.! Acetaminophen, which is the ingredient of Tylenol, is another ingredient in Excedrin, as is caffeine. So don't mix Excedrin with ibuprofen without getting the okay from your pharmacist!

Don't worry. It's gonna be fine.

You typically don't wanna take these two things at the same time. You're gonna get tired (if you haven't already) and wanna go to sleep, but you'll wake up in a bit.

Ibuprofen is one form of pain reliever. The pain reliever in Excedrin is acetaminophen (the same ingredient found in Tylenol). Doctors often recommend that patients who experience a high level of pain take both intermittently. In other words, take ibuprofen now, and then in two hours, take acetaminophen. Then two hours later, take more ibuprofen, and so on.

Taking them at the same time is going to be a little more overwhelming to your system, but nothing you won't recover from.

Have a nice sleep.

Yeah I've done this....I felt shaky and sick to my stomach...you took too much at once and since the excedrin has caffeine it intensifies the problem....When I felt like this I tried to eat some type of bread/crackers and some sprite/7-up...it will last for 1-2 hours...

you take up to 1200 or 2000 of each kind of pain killer a day, not sure what Excedrin's active ingredient... Like IB Profin and Asprin are different, you can double those if needed. Drink a soda, the caffeine will help and settle your tummy, that's what will mess you up.
