It may just be the mix of puppy food and regular dog food - pups this young have sensitive stomachs and should stick to one food only. A new diet needs to be introduced very gradually, it isn't good to bounce between the two.

On the other hand, they may be a problem - vomiting can of course be a sign of illness. More details are needed to ascertain this:

1) How frequent is the vomiting? (as in, times per day)
2) What does it look like? (bile, or undigested, partially digested food? Signs of blood in it?)
3) Any other symptoms? (diarrhoea, lethargy, any behavioural changes?)

I would ring a vet if I were you and see if they think there is cause for concern here. They will be likely to ask you the above questions.

This recently happened to our 3- 3 month old Miniature Schnauzer puppies that we are fostering:
Did you recently give him heartworm medication, flea preventative, or any other oral medical pill?

Did you dog get into any poison or something that you are not sure of? Garbage or spoiled food?

There may be something wrong with the puppy internally or could be very sick.

It is very bad for your puppy to keep switching foods when he goes to your sisters house. It may be the problem. Dogs and puppies are not humans and are VERY sensitive to food changes. Please continue to feed him the same quality puppy food every day.
Also, make sure it is QUALITY. That means: no by-products, preservatives, or fillers! Preferably no added fats either.
Innova, Wellness, and Eagle are some of the best; they sell puppy formula.

Please see the vet ASAP! It may be life threatening and you wouldn't even know it. Parvo, heartworm, and many other diseases cause vomiting and food resistance.

It's possible, that while your puppy is visiting, it eats the other dogs food...the mix of the two will definately make them sick. When a puppy is being transfered from one food to another, it has to be done gradually otherwise, they will get sick. Also, make sure the puppy has it's shots because as many people are unaware of, Parvo lives and thrives in Grass, dirt, mud...all that so you might want to check and make sure that the pups tummy is fat...if it begins to sink in at the ribs, there's a real good chance it has parvo.

Your dog needs to be seen by a vet - sounds like he has something in his tummy.
