Jehovah's Witnesses expect to be hated. Afterall Jesus told his followers "they have persecuted me, they will persecute you also; a slave is not greater than his master."

There hated because they tell the truth. They go door to door because that's what the real Christians did and still do, They study the bible more than any other people on earth, and know what it says about the earth and God's plans for it. They talk to people because they know what is going to happen and do not want people to be destroyed. They expect to live here on earth forever because that's what God promised man if he obeyed God's instructions in the Holy Bible.
They take seriously God's requirements and right now they have been in 235 lands and Islands of the sea. They all offer home bible studies so people can draw closer to God and live.
The time we live in is the time that Jesus said would be here and that if people wanted everlasting then they need to get serious, study and learn what God does require of us?
So all the people that hate them need to take notice that when you cast the first stone that you yourself know what you are doing? Remember Noah's days, that was an example of how people listened? I know for a fact that they don't stick their foot in your doors. Now if you would like to ask questions or make comments to this answer feel free to do so. If you would like to see where the Bible talks about going from door to door or where Jesus commands true Christians to teach and make disciples just ask. Mathew 28;18,19 gemhandy@hotmail.com

Because they go door to door preaching the good news, and somehow people hate being told they can live everlasting life in a beautiful paradise. Why they would hate to hear such wonderful news? When Jesus was on Earth preaching the good news many people and apostates hated him for it. He would answer dumb questions made by these people with wise words and they disliked him more for it. Jesus also said that his true people that followed his example would be persecuted just as he had been, and that is what is happening now.

I can only answer for me. JW's are nice people but the organization they serve has deluded them. As such, I don't hate JW's.

I don't think anyone really hates them but once they get a foot in your door it's almost impossible to get your door shut without breaking a leg. They quote the bible in their own way and will not give you a chance to answer and claim it is a sin to fight in war even though a person is forced to fight or die. The JWs I know are really nice people but I have never been able to win an arguement when talking with them even if it is not about the bible.

Basically, we hate something that is different from what we are familar with. As we get older, I noticed we hate wires or cords that never bothered us before. They are just there, in our way.

If it is different, it must be bad. People in authority, like clergy, reenforce that fear by telling that we are bad. If we have the same Bible and believe something different, we must be bad. Rather than discovering themselves what we believe, they dream up wierd stuff.

Now if people gave us a chance and listened, they might change their minds. What we teach is strictly from the Bible. Often in people's homes we have them get out their own copy to see for themselves what it says. A friend of mine was a seminary student for three years when one of JWs called on him. During the discussion, Ps. 83:18 came up where it gives God's personal name. He was shocked! He was an adult and three years into Bible study and no one had ever shown him that. He quit and became a JW. Sometimes it is just that simple for one to discover the truth and that they had been lied to all these years.

The clergy have a vested interest in keeping us away. They are afraid some of their followers might listen and stop paying the money to them. By contrast, we never charge for Bible studies with interested persons. Nor do we have any collection plate or those bags on poles at ANY meeting. That really makes the clergy mad. We have a contribution box in the back of kingdom halls that most would probably miss if they were not looking for it. It is voluntary.

Our skill with the Bible upsets many. We have 5 meetings each week, over three days. Each is different, but always concerning the Bible and understanding it. Becoming a witness is not hard but, more difficult than walking in and signing a log book. (I might add we are not concerned with your credit report as I just learned of two churches in the Atlanta area require.)

Instead we require you to learn what the Bible really teaches. With that free home Bible study, over about six months, you learn the basic truths of the Bible. You seperate fact from fiction and you can show anyone what it says because you KNOW not guess. Afterwards you can always do as you please. No one, to my knowledge, has ever been put in a headlock and dragged into a Hall kicking and screaming. No one has been forced with an arm lock to join as a Witness.

Everything we believe as far as religion or daily conduct is based on what the Bible really says, without any of beliefs dreamed up by any man. This drives people crazy who hate us. Some druel. The fact we don't force ourselves on anyone leaves them with nothing to hold on to.

We obey Jesus when he said we were not to mess with worldly politics. We obey all laws of the state we are in unless they conflict with God's Laws which are higher laws. We don't celebrate holidays that have anything of pagan or false worship for Jehovah said He would not tolerate tainted worship. Jesus did tell us to observe one thing annually. That was the Lord's Evening Meal on Nissan 14th.

We don't tell anyone how to live; but, we show what the Bible has to say.

Otherwise, there is nothing different about us. We laugh hard and often. We eat and drink (with moderation). We give and get gifts. We are all brothers. No matter where I go in the world, I could go to the local congregation and know I would be treated warmly and the teaching would be the same.

Sorry for going on so long. I have never written one this long before. Even spell check gave up.

I guess people would call Jesus a pest because he did the samething we are doing. we do not come to your door at eight in the morning. we don't leave the kingdom hall until almost ten on saturday. if you are busy, just tell us and we can come back when you are not busy. we are families just like you are. we may be your next door neighbor. I love Jehovah Witnesses. we are a worldwide brother and sisterhood in 236 lands

people just are hateful that's all

they have different views and a call to witness to the people, just like some Mormons and Holiness

I like the JWs too and I love their magazines and Questions Young People Ask (go to the website and see) should be required reading for all teens I think

if folk don't want to be bothered with them, all they have to do is say no thank you and go on their way

It's probably because they go door to door, which is quite annoying. Also, they have misinterpreted much of the bible, such as teaching that only 144,000 people will be saved (all JW's of course), instead of understanding that the 144,000 mentioned in Revelation will be male Jews, who will be spreading the word to the Jews during the tribulation for the purpose of saving millions. Misunderstanding the bible is nothing to hate anyone for, but some people don't need much in the excuse department to hatemonger.

I actually like Jehovah Witnesses. They are excellent to talk with abut the bible. But they tend not to like me when I show them from their own material the contradictions of the Watchtower -and/or false predictions. Perhaps the truth hurts

They're awesome people. I dont hate them at all. What I do hate is when people whom I dont enen know, knock my door down at 8am on a saturday morning to force feed me their religion in a family-style spanish-inquisition 40 questions game(be they LDS, JW or otherwise). I'm perfectly happy with MY OWN religion. I go to church on sundays. Let me sleep in.
