i ask this because in other answers about the birth of jesus, he was all from god and not mary's dna. he was pure. if this is the case, then he would not of had a bellybutton, because he couldn't have been attached to her placenta as that would have let her sinful dna into the growing god fetus, correct?

but evey picture and statue i have seen he does. wouldn't that have been some proof that he could have used to say that he was the son of god - his lack of belly button? is this proof that he is NOT god?

hey guys, i'm just going by christian answers saying that jesus was pure like adam and eve, and for this to be true, it means he could not have been nourished by mary's placenta, therefore would not have a belly button - and jimbo, don't worry, your questions are still stupid **kisses**

He came to us as a human, like you and I. Of course he has a belly button.

Jesus lived as every bit a human, as much as He was still God the Son.

He was part of Mary's DNA, as the prophecies said He would be born from the house of David. It was written He would come from that line.

To return your circular theory, why would God even bother having His Son born of a woman if not with all the trappings of normal human life -cord and all? He may as well have had Him just appear somewhere.

Besides, DNA is not sinful - hearts and minds are. That was the God in Him. Therefore, He remained pure. Otherwise, He lived in every way as any other man.

Jesus' DNA is that of the Father. The Holy Spirit came upon Mary and deposited the seed of the Father into Mary's womb.

The Bible states that it was necessary for Jesus to be completely man in order to pay for the sins of all men. Based on God's Word (and not some layman's statute) then, Jesus did have a bellybutton.

Remember that Mary was chosen for at least two reasons: She was "full of grace" (meaning that while a sinner herself, God's grace, His forgiveness towards her and the righteousness ascribed to her were greater than her sins). Second, she was a virgin at the time of conception.

If you can believe that Jesus was born of the Father in Mary's womb, why is it so much of a stretch for you to believe that the same God who created heaven and earth could protect His Son and keep Him clean of sin in the womb of a woman?

The Bible states: All things are possible to him who believes. And God is Almighty.

Don't permit such a small detail to keep you from experiencing Him whom the hymn writer described as "How Great Thou Art".

You appear to be working from the premise of inherited sin, which is not biblical, and did not reach its final position in the Catholic church until around 1844!

We are all sons of Adam; born sons and daughters of Adam, and have that heredity and everything that comes with it. We must in turn be born of God so as to no longer be the offspring of Adam, but now the offspring of God; sons of God.

The immaculate misconception is but an inaccurate attempt to understand this. The claim is that Mary did not inherit inheritable sin so that Jesus could not inherit it from her. What is never explained is how Mary would be the exception. And if she were the exception in this scenario, then her mother would have had to have been of the same, all the way back to Eve. It is a belief that falls to simple logic and critical thinking.

Yes. He must've had a belly button. He is always presented with one in statues and such. He was born by Mary, so he would need a placenta. "The placenta exchanges nutrients, wastes, and gases between maternal and fetal blood." It does not transmit DNA. Also, Mary was free of sin and original sin. Her DNA was not sinful. That was why God chose her.

You're confused. Jesus wouldn't be able to save us unless He was indeed 100% God AND 100% Man. No, there's no logical way to understand that. Consider it 100% human flesh, and 100% God's Spirit. Anyway, He obviously had a bellybutton, since He had a mother!

He was placed in Mary's womb by the Spirit of God and born of a woman. He was human flesh like we are. Yes, he had a belly button.

Jesus got his DNA from both his Father (God) and mother (Mary). Since he was born, he has a belly button.

Yes. He inherited DNA from mother and Father. That is why he had the power to lay down his life (mortal) and take it up again (immortal), because he inherited attributes from both. DNA is not sinful, only certain acts of humans are sinful.

Christ was born in the way most every normal human being was. That is the way God brings people into this world. Christ taught he was (as we all are) the spiritual children of God, our loving and compassionate father.

How he came into the world is irrelevant . . . what he taught was either true or untrue, and that's the only way I know how to measure divinity.
