Yes but I am not sure of scared because they are fighters. What would they be scared of getting a hiding they are in the hurting business. So what's there to be scared of, losing his title perhaps and pride of losing. Back then Pryor was dangerous and fighting him and getting a severe hiding for a low return was not considered very smart. A lot of champions avoided him from lightweight to welterweight. Where was the incentive for them, beaten up and washed up for what a medium to average wage, I don't think so, not a very smart move. I know if it wasn't for a certain promoter who offered and gave Jim Watt a million dollars to fight Arguello it would have never happened. What I am saying is the costs would have been too high for them to get in the ring and fight Pryor for low pay. Not sensible business.

Of course, the only name boxer of Pryor's time frame that didn't run like a rabbit from a fight with Aaron was Alexis Arguello, and look what Alexis got for being brave. Kenty, Watt, Camacho, Leonard, Mancini, Duran, even Hearns and Hagler, nobody wanted any part of Aaron Pryor.

Aaron Pryor was that good.

Don't know who Kenty and Watt be but I'm sure they were. It wouldn't surprise me if Arguello was afraid when he fought Pryor both times.
