I know alot of you cant stand me but please answer this for me as it is not intended to make fun of or belittle your religion

In Gods plan, how does he decide who gets to be born into the Hilton family and who has to be born into a poor family in Darfur to have to watch his/her mother raped and murdered in front of him/her?

Once again, I just want it explained to me, I am not trying to mock or be disrepectful of your religion

So thats it huh? God receives the praise when good things happen yet when bad things happen its our fault? Sounds like a great deal.

Are you all telling me with a straight face that God "allows" these things to happen to the people he designed in his own image and "loves" or are you telling me that he has the power to create an entire universe out of nothing, yet has no power to control what goes on in it?

Agu- I am not sure where you thought I was trying to take you, I just wanted the question answered with common sense.

Grendel- You have based your whole life on a premise borne from circular logic and you are questioning my intellect level? Why don't you just try substantianting what you say rather than flinging insults? Somehow, I only feel like the second dumbest person around here, thank you

as a skeptic myself, i don't think that is an indefenseable argument.
the truth is that even if god is real, a christian doesn't have an answer for that. supposedly only god does.
Personally i feel that if he does exist, the things like the injustice you explain, while it is an excellent point to ponder, god would have made this world like that to confound man and see if mankind could be good in a seemingly godless world.
also, heaven is supposed to be so great that it won't even matter how sucky your life was

see christians; skeptics can be intellectually honest, can you?

Ecclesiastes 11:5 As you do not know the way of the wind, or how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child, so you do not know the works of God who makes everything.Sometimes, not always, God brings adversity to call us to repentance. There are many times in the Bible where this is true. If you watch people who have suffered through a disaster there are two different reactions to it. Some it draws them to God and others away. There are a lot of things I could say but I think the main thing in this case is that God is in control, and him being God, we just have to accept some things without understanding perfectly. We know enough about how wonderful He is that we should be able to trust in what we can't understand. God bless!!!

The purpose of all lving beings is to give glory and honor to God. The lilies of the field do not contemplate such questions they just give glory and honor to God by their being. who am I to completely understand God. God is unfathmoable and does things for His own reasons, reassons which I cannot hope to comprehend. Your question and any attempt to answer it is arrogant. For you "fundies" who must have a biblical referecne for everything, see Job. Ulitmatley this is the position God and Job came to. Remeber God allowed the devil to have everything of Job's 'cept his life. when the misfortune befalls Job naturally He asks ... why? God's answer, Job what do you mean why? where were you when I formed the heavens etc, etc, God does things for His own reasons. It is not our nature to understand God. It is the essecnce of the greek hubris to think along such lines. Why God would curse someone by having them born into the Hilton or Bush or other such rich wealthy family he does for His own reaosns. Our job as the created is not to know but to love and worship and yes fear God. Why do I say it would be a cusre to be born into a waelthy family? It is easy for a camel to get through the eye of a needle then for a wealthy person to get to heaven. Why becsuase that's what God said. It porbably has to do with them being too into their stuff. I mean look at these people are these who you really want to emulate -- some wealthy whinny person who whines because she has to go to jail and be away from her ... "stuff". Everyone dies with nothing nothing just so much dust why not give it away to the poor. The hilton's the Rocefellers the bushs particularly "Old" money they're just sad, generation after generation after generation so into their stuff that they don't know what's important. They spend their lives getting more stuff and holding on to the stuff they already have and in the end it's gone meaningless nonsense.

What an ignorant question!

"...We will find neither national purpose nor personal satisfaction in an endless amassing of worldly goods... The gross national product measures neither our wit nor our courage, neither our wisdom nor our learning, neither our compassion nor our devotion to country. It measures everything, in short, except that which makes life worthwhile."

I can use Gods own word in the bible to answer your question if you are willing to look it up and verify what I tell you,

I ask this, because I am human and do not want to be believed over the bible itself.

The story is in Genesis.
Jacob and Enoch are the twin sons of Issaac and rebeccah.

Enoch was first born of the two and never had much respect for his first born status, so much so that he sold it to Jacob for a bowl of savory stew.

Jacob knew that his brother was easily tempted and offered the stew for this high price at a time that he knew that his brother would be very hungry after a long hunting trip.

Basically both brothers were liers, cheaters, tempters and only after what they felt would benefit themselves.

The question is asked, Why would God choose either one of them to recieve the blessing? God states that he chose Jacob because he chose him, nothing more or less.

The answer is that God knows far more than we do, he knows all, and according to the book of Romans, all things work for the power and glory of God, even things that we view as bad or unjust. God can see the whole forest, we only see the trees around us.

God hasn't explained this one to me yet. I keep asking why I couldn't have been Walt Disney's daughter....man I love that place!

Seriously, you have to look at this with different values. Does Paris have it all? She has $$. Big deal. I see her on tv and don't really see a happy person. Money isn't everything. Yet, there are people who have been born into suffering and when they give their life to God they eventually come to know a great peace even in the midst of their situation. And one day, when they walk through the pearly gates on the streets of gold, they'll have all of the wealth they missed out on here. That's all I know now.

I don't believe there is a logical answer to your question. This is one maybe you should ask the Man Himself some day.

As for the second part of your question, I believe there is a Satan and he has a third of the original number of angels that fell with him. To be a party of such an act as rape and murder would not be allowed by God but those fallen angels would. I don't really know why God doesn't stop Satan now, except for the fact that God has to always operate within His promises. Satan and his angels will someday answer for what they do but now is not the time.

I doubt if this is the kind of answer you are looking for but it is one from over 40 years of study. Good luck and I hope that someday you will understand and give your life to Jesus as well. It is a lack of understanding that gives Christians bad names with those like yourself. What you must understand, most of what you hear from most Christians is incorrect "church dogma" not the true Word as spoken; Big difference!

Isaiah 40:28
Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable.
(in Context) Isaiah 40 (Whole Chapter)

Romans 11:33
Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!

In short, God's ways/decisions/statutes/declarations etc are UNSEARCHABLE! Only God knows why He chooses whom He will for the purpose of being born into any family. Additionally, it is not God who chose the famine, poverty, violence, and chaos the world is in but man chooses it in sin. I've heard many people in the world say, "What goes around comes around" or they believe in Karma (same thing). In any case, whatever you put out there in the universe is bound to come back to you. In so many countries, including America, violence, immoral sexual behavior, drunkenness, the spirit of pride, greed, gluttony and so much more is celebrated over the timeless, stable, and sound statues of God. When immoral behavior is both celebrated and allowed to continue in one form or another the result at the end of it all is death! Look at Paris Hilton for example, America couldn’t get enough of chasing her down, getting a good look at her (photos, commercials, videos, movies etc) to the point that she became like a god and/or and idol to millions. She loved the attention to the point that she continued to do crazier things to get the attention of her idol worshipers. Now she's paying the price for all the immoral behavior and sin she "put out there into the universe." In fact she, like most do, has both acknowledged the existence of God and she knows that God isn't pleased! She's even said things like God has given her a second chance. She's just one example of how sin and rebellion against God and rejection of plain old common sense will lead you to death or a certain death. In her case, it was the death of her freedom for 40-45 days.
However, to get back to the quetion, God way of doing things is totally different and much higher than that of man. When, to whom, and where people are born is according to His will and purpose for that persons life. It is when we pervert the way of God to fit our own selfish needs that spins this world and our personal lives into death like situations.

Good question.
The bible says that God knew us before we were born, and who we would be born to etc.
How does he decide? I can't speculate.
However, I can see how certain types of personalities would not be able to handle certain situations. God knows who can handle what. It is said that he will not give us more than we can handle.
I personally would not be able to handle being a Hilton, in the spot light; rich.
Although, I was able to handle growing up with an alcoholic parent, in a home which was Godless, and emotionally disconnected. Now I am able to be ok with it, and be glad that I had gone through it, because my personal experience with God has given me peace and therefore I am able to be a witness to Gods grace, mercy and blessings.

What a stupid question. If life were already perfect on earth there would be no basis for individual choices and responses. We have to experience life - both the good and the bad - in order to develop spiritually so God can separate the wheat from the chaff. Yes,some people get it pretty easy, some get is pretty bad. i don't know how that works; I can't speak for God or read His thoughts.

As man is not God and only thinks with a human brain, and we sure don't use much of it, man can't say how God decides who gets born into what family.

The Bible does say that the rich will have a harder time getting into His Kingdom than a poor person.

Jesus came for the righteous as well as the unrighteous, the poor and the rich, the have and the have-nots. The rich have a harder time of it cause of greed. They seem to have a harder time of giving of themselves than the poor do. I'm not saying every person with $ is doomed, they aren't, it's just harder for them to get into God's Kingdom cause they live by another god, $.
