I know fire ants bite, but do the little brown ones bite too?

Yes, regular ants will also bite...particularly if you bother their nest. The only other reason they bite is in self defense. Their bites are mild though and will not cause the discomfort that red ants cause.

That is not a Brown Recluse bite. My guess would be an ant bite. Brown recluse bites look like a bulls eye. A big circle of red with a black dot of dead flesh in the center. If treatment is not received for a Brown Recluse bite the area of dead flesh grows and grows. Leaving a big hunk of dead flesh where the bite was. Good luck
