When I was pregnant, I used to go to the flower shop I grew up in and sat in their flower cooler. It was very relaxing, I could actually sleep.

Have not had to do that yet - although at the moment, that would be quite arguable... - but I assume trying not to move too much. Ask help when needed, people will understand.

Doing any kind of labour during a pregnancy is already twice as hard, doing any kind of labour during the summer - especially during a heat wave - is also twice as hard... So I can only assume you'll have it twice as hard as other people during this season.

Oh you poor dear! I had all of mine in June, I must have timed it that way on purpose.

All I can suggest is staying as cool and comfortable as possible. Use fans and air conditioning, lots of cool drinks, powder to keep you dry and less sweaty. And put those feet up whenever you can, they'll swell with the heat.

And keep positive thoughts. Your baby will be worth the discomfort.

Congratulations.

stay out of the sun, drink PLENTY of water and juice ---NO BOOZE, wear a HAT while outside if you HAVE to be in the sun and keep seated whenever possible.... depending on HOW pregnant you are---if it's just the beginning---act as you would ANY summer (except no booze or smoking)... if you are more then 5 MONTHS, follow the instructions above..also, if you do not have air conditioning in your home. purchase a few window fans----put one blowing IN in one window and one blowing OUT in another window in the room---this will keep a nice little breeze going in the room no matter HOW hot it gets outside. and just keep telling yourself---fall is coming cooler weather will be here soon....

You got some pretty good answers and I would add to wear comfortable shoes. Drink lots of water.
Congratulations on your new baby on the way.

AIR CONDITIONING! And keep your feet up as much as possible, or your ankles will swell. Good luck, and congrats! =)
