I'm verklempt... lol

Actually, mental illness commonly manifests as religious delusion. I visited a state hospital once with a nurse, and someone thought I was Jesus... asked me for a cigarette.... but almost all of them had religious delusions...

A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum is a test of faith. The asylum might easily be a metaphor for this forum :) One can only hope that the one taking the "casual stroll" recognizes the needs of the inmates and decides to respond with compassion. Through compassion, one's faith is rejuventated and restored.

Faith is only as strong as what you have faith in. How often do you stroll the lunatic asylum?

I have a hard time picturing a "casual stroll" through the looney bin!

Maybe the inmates and the staff who actually work there can be casual, but as a first-time visitor, I would not be casually strolling. I would be anxiously ambling, fearfully faltering and nervously navigating (whew, took me a while to come up with that one).

I think that even a thorough scrutinizing of the lunatic asylum ( religions/science/culture) will show that faith doesn't prove anything.
Faith is just a belief and cannot be used as a proof.
Actually ... can we prove anything??

Surely, thy Lord knows that thou standest up praying for nearly two-thirds of the night, and sometimes half or a third thereof and also a party of those who are with thee. And God determines the measure of the night and the day. He knows that you cannot calculate the time accurately, so He has turned to you in mercy. Recite, then, as much of the Qur'an as is easy for you. He knows that there will be some among you who may be sick, and others who may travel in the land, seeking God's bounty, and others who may fight in the cause of God. So recite of it that which is easy for you, and observe Prayer and pay the Zak›t and lend to God a goodly loan. And whatever good you may send on before you for your souls, you will find it with God. It will be better and greater in reward. And seek forgiveness of God. Surely, God is Most Forgiving, Merciful.

I think it would prove that perception is relative, not necessarily related to reality, and rules people's lives. Also, it proves that belief is not rational, but is often attempted by the believer to be rationalized.

Quoth Eminem: "Crazy insane, or insane crazy? When I say Hussein, you say Shady..."

Your quote reminds me of another saying: "In a room full of idiots the smartest person is the fool."

The funny thing here is, you can apply that to many different sides. Who's the group of idiots? Fundamentalist Christians, Atheists, Catholics, Left-handed people, right-wingers, sperm donors, rappers, Jews, Neo-Nazis, Lesbians, Linkin Park fans, the list is endless....

That's all I've got 4 now.

I think it is idiotic. Faith is not something that is required to proved, that is why it is called Faith! Faith is seperate from fact.

Yes, we all know faith does not prove anything.
Proof and faith are contrary to each other.
