I would say 30, but some women can pull it off at any age I suppose.

Inappropriatness of garments has a lot of variables. If she looked like Pamela Anderson - it was probably appropriate, if she looked like Ruth Westheimer - probably not so appropriate. If she was on a beach - appropriate - if she was anywhere off the beach - inappropriate. Sounds as if you could tell her age, though - so I doubt the Pamela Anderson thing fits.

This is all based on the current conception of beauty. And how prudish a person is - I know I'm uncomfortable knows as much as I do abouts Pam's body - regardless of her age.

Good news, though. There is a current trend towards modest in the clothing industry. That means us adults will be able to buy clothes again that don't look like something and 80 year old would wear or something Brittany would almost wear. There is moderation (and appropriateness) on the horizon.

Depends on the woman and whether you are talking about out in public or in private. I am 48 and still wear thong underwear, under my clothes and for my man. At my age,I wouldn't even consider wearing one out in public, although my butt isn't flabby. I just think it isn't appropriate, especially if there are children around. I truly hate to see women on the beach with flabby butts wearing a thong,I think it looks disgusting. I've also seen some women,of all ages that wear thong underwear under low rise jeans. When they sit down in front of you,you see alot more than you want to. Not attractive at all unless you have a tight little butt.

A woman can wear a thong anytime she wants, it's more a question of showing it off by wearing low cut pants. And the answer to that is the age when a woman learns to have a little class, so for some people, never.

Are we talking swimsuit thong or underclothes thong?

Swimsuit: Nobody should wear them, but that's just my opinion. People are going to do what they want and if you don't like it then politely ignore it.

Underclothes: How do you know it was a thong? If you can see underwear there is either something wrong with their underwear or their clothes, no matter what style of underwear it is. So long as it's all tucked in place it doesn't matter what style a person is most comfortable in.

Clothing is variable in it's appropriateness. Thongs can be wonderful for almost all ages, provided that one can look good in it. If a woman's 43...by all means wear a thong...if you have the body for it. People should use good judgement in what they wear. In similar fashion, fat people shouldn't wear spandex, and if a guy has a gut, he shouldn't be hanging it out over a speedo.

Some women wear thongs so they don't have panty lines.....that being said if they have blub blub around the waist and stretch marks and they bend over and thongs shows...then it is not cute not matter what the age.

For the sake of clarity, are you talking underwear or bathing suits??
Underwear maybe, Bathing suits Hell No!

I'm more concerned about the YOUNG girls wearing them. Once you're an adult and as long as your skivvies are hidden, you can wear 'em till you turn back into dirt. The real purpose of them is to eliminate panty lines in certain types of clothing, NOT to be hanging out of your britches like a whale tail.

"what is the oldest age a woman should wear a thong? "

Never. They look disgusting, even on the most fit people.

Every woman looks better in a thong when you consider some of the alternatives.

Exposed? No older than 19.

Thong as a bikini? No older than 25.

Under her clothes? Who cares?
