Any basic lawyer should be able to help you. Call your local state or county bar association for a recommendation. You might find someone who's new to the area and is looking for business, and willing to give you a deal.

you really dont have any leg to stand on there unless she gives you a receipt to say u bought the car. if you have any proof of payment/ownership you can go to the company yourself and make a query. in a court case this proof of payment would be all the judge would need. this person too could get into hot water for not sending away the title straight away when she said she would. IE any parking tickets would go to her.

Any general practice lawyer should be able to give you advice. I'm not sure there is much you can do though. This is all word of mouth. You should have taken on the debt in your name if you were going to be making payments against it. technically, you don't even own the car.

Small claims court will do, you don't need a lawer, simple case, a person is obligated to give title when the debt is paid off, if she sold a car she did't own it's fraud, and can be charged in criminal court also.
