There's no need to download additional divix codecs if you use VLC.

I recommend using VLC media player. Best part is it's free and completely free of spyware. It is also the most popular player out there.

VLC media player is a highly portable multimedia player for various audio and video formats (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, mp3, ogg, ...) as well as DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols.

Make sure you have the proper codec installed. In Windows Media Player, click Tools/Options. On the Player tab, make sure "Download codecs automatically" is checked. Then try to launch the file again.

You could also try downloading them yourself (see codec link). Another big one is to make sure you have Divx installed (See link).

Seach K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 2.89 and install it.

You can also try VLC player, it works with all video formats.
